Headers going in

Hey guys, today i got my right manifold off... wow... that was not easy... broken studs. Anyway.... Im going to pick some parts up and was wondering with the pacesetter headers on...I also got a new y pipe down... What other parts do I need other then the catylitic converter and muffler? The big pipe between... which air sensors? Sorry for the questions just I realized when doing this one of my air sensors was hanging by nothing and figured it would be best to fix them all and get the best performance.

On a quick not to Im taking my carpet out to fix the floor and soundproof it, how many cubic feet do you gather it is? Should I buy dynomat or is there a cheaper solution?

do you mean square feet? a tape measure works really good for figuring those things out.

i know what you mean by sound proofing... or sound dampening to be more accurate. When i bought my 93' pathfinder, it had a damaged exhaust and rotten floor panels. i fixed my floor, but it isnt insulated. Ive made my exhaust whole again and there isnt exhaust leaks. it is still pretty loud tho. i Probably need a new cat and muffler or a full exhaust.

 

But getting back on point, dynomat is pretty expensive, and i dont know how many layers you would need to make it quiet enough. Another thing to think about is how well it takes heat. Even with the stock floor, insulation, carpet etc. the floor gets hot. In my owners manual it actually says that the floor tends gets hot, and to always use your floor mats. Especially when driving bare foot.

 

Id say look into the dynomat "specs" to see how useful it will be. If it can take the heat, it might be a good solution.

Im going to check it out, thank you for the response. Also I think it might be a good idea for me to replace all the air sensors... anyone know or have a list of the ones required... I checked in search for air sensors, exhaust... didnt see much

You have the wrong terminology. "Air sensors" doesn't really help. O2 sensor, mass airflow sensor, and exhaust gas temp sensors are all what might loosely be termed as "air sensors". They are also all located in completely different places on the vehicle. I will assume you're talking about the O2 sensor for your sake and because you're talking about the exhaust system.

 

Denso and Bosch are the most commonly-used O2 sensors IIRC, just buy a new one. It will come with new wiring; you'll just have to screw it in and plug it in. That's it.
