LSD

Does anyone know if there is different gear ratios from the 91 to 95 models?

I am looking at a LSD for my 95 Terrano that is off a 91 model.

Mine is an auto and what this one is/was, is unknown to me.

Does it matter about the ratios for the LSD side of things?

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

What's involved in transferring it?

This is what the seller said about it;

Front diff..

Rear diff..LSD..limited slip

good condition, complete rear axle assembly with brake hubs etc..

off a 91

5 door.

4.3 & 4.6 in the US models,

the info tag under the hood will have it on the plate 4.33 or 4.66 or whatever yours has.

Thanks, I will look for that. Will this gearing be a problem when swapping the LSD over?

If they are different you will have to swap front and back (they need to be same ratio or they will make real kuwl sounds with the front and back going at different speeds!-) till something broke.

Sorry, but what I was meaning, is the LSD part of the gearing, or an extra part thats inserted etc?

As you can probably tell, I know jack about LSD workings. :blush02::unsure:

Magic happens inside a LSD, No one knows how they work

The one I've got is IIRC 39:8 Which should come out at about 4:88 if the online calculator is working right.

It came out of a 94 manual.

If you need to swap the front diff t might be easier to get a diff shop to swap the crown wheel over :aok:

BTW, yes I need a new horn  Kinda pathetic huh?

Well, I might just go ahead with the purchase of the one I was offered then, and if it turns out to be the wrong one, I spose I could always find someone who wants it then.

I don't think there is a need to swap the front diff is there?

All this LSD stuff is completely foreign to me, I was just told I should get one.

By the time I heard the horn, and reconised that it was you, it was too late to give you a blast of mine, lol

Did you happen to have a spare LSD there? $$$

If it is the same as the US, you want to try to get a LSD rear out of a 95. All the others are rates at 130 ft/lbs of torque and the 95 is rated at 260...

At least, this is what I remember. If it's screwy info, someone will stomp on me for it...

You mean the one I mentioned in my last PM? VVVVVVV

I just looked at another winch bar on NPORA if you haven't seen it. (Navara)

Don't know if your a tube bar fan, but damn it looks nice.

BTW I did some searching and LSD's do have spider gears. So I'm sure I do have an LSD diff (Though it's out of a manual) 4:88 I believe.

If your keen just make me an offer (I don't want $500)

I was under the impression (and I could be wrong) that all WD21 Pathfinders had a 230ft/lbs LSD, and that Nissan changed it for the Frontier/Xterra (W)D22 platform to 130ft/lbs.
