statikuz
This has been suggested and discussed by all sorts of people... as the HB sat a little higher off the frame than the Pathy did coming out of the factory, so the shifter was a little longer. They both used the same transfer case, so a HB shifter would be a direct bolt-on to a Pathfinder. Most people don't go this route and end up just bending the stock shifter among other things, but thanks to 88, I got my hands on a shifter from a Hardbody and tried it. =) LET IT HEREAFTER BE KNOWN THAT: Even after swapping in an HB shifter, you will still need to cut out a LITTLE of the plastic from the inside of the leather shifter boot. This bit of plastic slightly gets in the way of shifting fully into 4L. However, the new shifter allows you to shift flawlessly otherwise, certainly MUCH better than the stock Pathy shifter [unmodified] after a body lift. And, if you ask me, less work than heating up a shifter, bending it, and notching a bit out of the floor. Looks a bit more normal too.

Duffman
Ill be swapping the sticks before I do the 3" body lift, will this give me any clearance issues becouse the shift stick is too tall? My mind says hell no, but ya never know.
88pathoffroad
It occurs to me that if you still have to cut the console plastic to get the shifter into 4LO, it's probably not tall enough or it has the wrong angle. Shifters from any 4WD HB from 87-95 should work.
