Free wheeling hubs will disengage in reverse and from time to time.

 

When I 1st got my Pathy, I loved the auto hubs. Never had to get out to lock them in/out.

Then my wheeling got slightly more adventurous and they started clicking, grinding and popping out (At the worst possible time)

genuine nissan manual hubs are by far the strongest & best option.
