jwestpnw
I'm replacing the front brake rotors today and was just wondering if anyone knows the torque amount for the hub bolts and the rotor bolts. Thanks in advance for the help.
94extreme
hub bolt you have to seat so read the instructions. at the end it's basically hand tight. rotor bolts are somewhere in the 80-100 or so. i never torque anything unless it's on the engine. FUELER
I think the brake bolts are important to torque. i did my last set without checking any of the torques and within a year my rotors are badly warped. ill upload the PDF file with all the torque amounts soon. nissandoms47
Meh ive never torqued them down to a specification and i've been fine as far as warped rotors or the rotors being loose. If you have an impact then just impact them on a good bit, if you just have a ratchet just make sure they're tight.
shift220
Meh ive never torqued them down to a specification and i've been fine as far as warped rotors or the rotors being loose. If you have an impact then just impact them on a good bit, if you just have a ratchet just make sure they're tight. After seeing the damage of my friend's wheel fall off his truck and not being able to break loose the lugnuts on my old Isuzu Rodeo, I'll never use an impact on anything thats put under a load on a truck ever again. Way to inaccurate and misleading when it is tight or not. Sure most of time its probably fine but i'm never taking that chance. Trusty old manual torque wrench for me. At least use a breaker bar and "check" the torque after. Anything over 75 ft-lbs on those and it'll be good. systemf
According to the FSM for a 99 R50 the bolt to rotor torque should be 36-51 ft-lbs of torque.
