Badiceman
Im driving down from skiing in the snow in 4h and the road clears up. I pop it into 2h but the hubs are still locked? Do I need to stop and backup the three feet to unlock the hubs?

adamzan
But i don't think it hurts to do it at a later time other than more drag so worse gas mileage. Edited January 28, 2008 by redfinder
Badiceman
Thats pretty much what im asking. Is there anything wrong with driving with the hubs locked on dry pavement?
88pathoffroad
It'll drag down your gas mileage and spinning the front diff at 65-75 MPH probably isn't the best idea...
Simon
Spinning the front diff at 65-75MPH will hurt nothing. I've run my warn manual hubs in the locked position countless times, in semi-bad weather, in 2wd, as a precautionary measure. Remember, the R50 came stock with a fully engaged front driveline, and it has the same differential as the WD21. If your 4wd light is still on, it means that your T-case has not disengaged, probably due to the front driveline still spinning. Sometimes it will pop out on it's own, sometimes reversing is necessary. If that's the case, you DO have to reverse to get it to disengage, as running in 4wd on dry pavement will harm the truck. adamzan
My light won't go off unless I reverse. Yet when i take it out of 4wd and don't back up it only drives the rear wheels still. Its nice to know now that i can leave the hubs engaged in the bad weather.
