dirk
When ever I drive between the speed of 120-125km/h my engine feels really rough and gritty but anything before this or after this speed it feels fine.

madhatter_xe
You yankees really need to get with the times! j/k, i hate metric too. 125kph is about 78mph
94extreme
no other times it gives trouble? does the check engine light come on? anything else?
dirk
120km/h is about 74 miles. No lights come on just feels rough and I can feel it vibrating the accelerator pedal and even if I have a passenger they can feel it also.
94extreme
are you sure it's the engine and not something else vibrating? have you check your plugs and wires and cap? fuel filter? air filter? you're going to have to start with the basics. dirk
all that stuff is good and it only happens when I hit 120, once i go over 125km it goes away and I've hit up to 140 and there's no vibrating.
madhatter_xe
Can you describe the vibration a little better. Does the vibration travel through to the steering wheel? or is it strictly the engine shaking? does the tach needle start shaking too? it could be a U-joint or steering component also. Slick
or oyu lost a wheel weight and that's it's preferred wobble speed....
dirk
I don't feel it in the steering wheel I can feel it on the floor I really think its coming from the engine. I had all four tires replaced and balanced and even with the old tires the rough feeling was still there. Couldn't tell you with the tach needle was shaking my tach is broken. 94extreme
drive faster or slower then. all that stuff is good and it only happens when I hit 120, once i go over 125km it goes away and I've hit up to 140 and there's no vibratingthis points to tire/steering/suspention issue to me. JohnBoy
Mine vibrates also when doing over 75MPH. I really don't think the WD 21 likes to go any faster then 75 MPH
dirk
It just sucks for me because thats the range of speed I go to work at everyday. I found out today if I let go of the gas at the speed the gritty feeling goes away, and If I idle at 120km/h the feeling eventually goes away but I'm almost home by then lol

Yeah these engines feel a little raspy around 3k rpm i've only ever had mine up to 5k rpm and that was an accident when i was trying to pass some moron and i floored it. its quiet at 5k rpm though

Failing that, could be an axle or wheel bearing.
adamzan
I'm pretty sure its my exhaust as mines more related to engine rpm's around 3k is raspy and rumbly. *goes out to check other pathy*
95shakinPF
Feeling a vibration in the floor would indicate a problem with underneath toward rear of vehicle! I read that you've replaced tires and had wheels balanced... have you tried rotating them(rear to front/front to rear) and see if the vibration shows in the steering wheel.Try this to rule out a possible bent rim. Otherwise, it could likely be as stated....U-joint or exhaust.... Good Luck!!
