Your Pathfinder Info
1995 Nissan Pathfinder XE-V6. Bought used, I have done 2 repairs on it myself, replaced the starter which was a pain in the ass but a lot of fun, and replaced the fun clutch when I noticed a high pitched squealing sound and saw that my fan was starting to pivot.

Wow I am totally pissed, so I attempted to changed my knock sensor and my bloody pathfinder doesn't even have a knock sensor its just a freakin rusted hole! I took apart the whole intake manifold for nothing sweet... and there isn't even a cylinder head sensor just another rusted hole! k death to pathfinder.
-
Okay so I grabbed a ECU from the scrap yard, off the same pathfinder and now the ECU is giving me a code and its code 35 I think the one to do with the detonation sensor, could this be the whole cause of my problem? Or is this ECU just storing an old code from the previous pathfinder?
-
So I changed the o2 sensor with a brand new one same issue but its not as bad. Is it possible the timing belt is off? I guess that will be my next straw to grasp.....
-
I didn't really smell anything but I took the cat off anyways lol noticed more power but same problem is occurring! And it seems like its starting to crap out faster and faster each day. i'll be driving at 50km when the problem is starting to happen and i'll floor it and it just gets loud but doesn't drive any faster.
-
I haven't really noticed but i'll check it out. Should it stink bad even for the first time I start it or only after i've driven it and it starts to crap out?
-
Well i'm definetly getting to the point of pushing my pathfinder off a cliff. This is the problem after hour of driving I turn off the ignition and turn it back on and boom thing sounds like crap! and the tac is vibrating like crazy and the exhaust is super loud. Sounds like its not firing correctly but it only happens once its at opperating temperature, and it doesn't go any faster then 10km/h. Replaced the MAF with a new one, brand new ECU temp sensor straight from the stealership, new cap checked every spark plug cable they all read fine, coil reads fine. checked the ECU for codes only gives me the normal opperating code. Havent tried replacing the o2 sensor but could that be the main problem of all this? Then once I let it sit for an hour or two its fine to drive till it warms up again.
-
oh hahaha alright i'll try that.
-
the spark plugs are firing perfect ign coil is perfect I checked them all with a meter. could it possibly be the o2 sensor or my ECU is just crap? starting to get frustrated...
-
Okay changed Temp sensor problem still exists. removed the o2 sensor from the pipe and drove it problem is still there. where's the cylinder sensor located???
-
I changed my ECU temp sensor and I thought it fixed it but it just prolonged the time for me to notice the sluggish acceleration and loss of power. I tried searching for the 14 miles thread I couldn't seem to find it... I'll also try to figure out this ECU. Possibly the cylinder head sensor? hmmm I'll look into that.
-
Alright i'll change the ECU sensor I have another one kicking around. I tried running the codes and I got what I said in my last post^^^. Also my fuel burns like a mother! Full tank lasts me under a week and remember I can only drive 30-45min at a time!
-
Its an automatic. I tried running the ECU codes either I dont know how to work this thing or its broken lol. I turned the key on. turned the little slotted screw fully clockwise waited five seconds turned it fully counter didnt blink at all.... then i turned it back, and both LEDs blink twice pause then three times then three times again. So maybe its not giving me any codes or unless those are codes?

Okay I have a 1995 Pathfinder XE 4x4 355,000km. This is my problem I start my truck and everything works fine with lots of power, after 30min of driving it starts having a lot of engine hesitation and is very sluggish, it feels like its not getting enough fuel or air. I°ll floor the accelarator and it will max out at 10kmh with no power thats when people start honking at me... After I let my truck sit for an hour or two then it works again and then the same problem occurs. My air filter is brand new, changed my MAF sensor, new fuel filter, PCV valve works, EGR valve works, new distributor cap. I cant find the problem could it possibly be my crank angle sensor? Or maybe my fuel pump? once it starts heating up it starts to fail? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

It just sucks for me because thats the range of speed I go to work at everyday. I found out today if I let go of the gas at the speed the gritty feeling goes away, and If I idle at 120km/h the feeling eventually goes away but I'm almost home by then lol

I don't feel it in the steering wheel I can feel it on the floor I really think its coming from the engine. I had all four tires replaced and balanced and even with the old tires the rough feeling was still there. Couldn't tell you with the tach needle was shaking my tach is broken.
