kidrock
Hey guys, I'm trying to replace my antenna. OK, all the instructions I have read says; just take the base nut off. Turn the key on, and pull the mast and the cable out. For some reason mine will not come out. It's like something is holding it that I can't see. Any ideas? Thanks. k9sar
yea, remove the nut and make sure everythings loose, turn on the radio and grab the antenna mast and as it comes up, continue to pull. You will have to pull about 6" of the toothed nylon out of the gear when you get to fulle xtension. Putting one back is just the reverse. Turn on the radio, feed the nylon into the home (the right way) and push down gently as you have someone turn the radio off. It should grab and pull in. Alternately (at least on the WD21's), you can get at the assembly by taking off the fender off.
revgolem
ive had to replace quite a few of these on various vehicles and theres a really good chance that you are going to have to remove and open up the entire assembly to untangle gnarled mess of nylon. usually not too difficult, just watch for any rogue springs or gears to fall out when you take it apart. I've found out if it says "simple" or "easy" look out. Yup, it was so easy that I replaced the whole asembly to make it harder on myself.
