i have a `95 pathy and was wondering why the trailmaster 4" lift will not fit mine. what parts are different. could i make it fit and how much actually effort would that take. thanks

havent heard of a 4" trailmaster lift... but I think we'd need more details on it to figure out which lift it is and y it wont work...

The difference is in the Tie Rods, they switched to a larger tapper in 93, but TM didn't retool and only sells the one tapper size kit. So you either have to have the relocation bracket reamed or swap your steering to an older set to fit the kit on a 93+.

Actually, all you have to do is use 87-92 outer TRE's, cut them down a little and bolt it up.

Cut them down? Why?

 

I had a CL from a small taper truck installed on my last 95, which had regular, large taper stuff on the outer ends, and everything was fine. No cutting of anything.

Actually, you have to cut the TRE no matter what to install the lift. The new mount sits inboard of the stock location.

seems stupid not to offer the kit for `93 and later just because of the tie rods. must be some guy sitting behind a desk making that decision. thanx for the help. also awesome pathy 88pathoffroad. love the LTBs!!!
