Hi,

I wanted to give a report about the performance of our new 2008 Nissan Pathfinder LE V8 4x4 on the beach. We recently bought the truck because we needed a bigger vehicle. We like to duck hunt which means boat, decoys, guns, dogs, etc. We also enjoy going to the beach with our camper and fishing on the four wheel drive beaches. We took the new truck to the beach this weekend. I couldn't even tell the camper was back there. We went 79 mph and it turned just under 2000 rpm. According to the computer, we were getting around 13 mpg. Not bad considering the camper and two kayaks on top.

The truck goes great on the beach. The sand was soft and others were getting stuck but I never took it out of the auto mode. I did turn off the VDC. I had a ford explorer before . This truck beat the Explorer hands down. But, with 310 hp and 380 ft pds of torque, it was not a surprise.

I am very pleased with the new truck. I wish I had some pics of it on the beach. But, here is a pic of the truck:

Welcome, I have always wanted to try surf-casting. I think it would be fun to have no idea what you might pull up from the depths!

Nice truck btw.
