yeah, I'm from the "tuck it and forget it" school as well. The space for the muffler is pretty well protected, and you could buy 3 Dynomax mufflers for the price of one of those....

yea, if i smaked my muffler, i would be more worried about my driveshaft. plus, i think the muffler is the least vunerable of the exhuast, its my tail pipe that has been owned more than once.

The crossover pipe up front is pretty low. I tore it out of the Y junction on my 93 once.

 

There are some vehicles that have a rather exposed muffler, which these are good for. With ours, you would have to land on a pointed rock to tag it with it in the stock location.
