Rear Hatch

Worked the other day, but yesturday the darn thing won't open. I've tried locking and unlocking the automatic locks. I hear the lock clicking (locking/unlocking) but when I grab the handle to open the rear hatch, nothing!

Anyone have a clue on what I can do? Has this happened to any of you?

Another thing.....My blower motor or shold I say the switch on the dash for the heat and AC won't blow or work when I flip it to 4. 1,2, & 3 work fine, but not 4. Would it be a bad spot in the blower motor or a connection not meeting up when the knob is flipped to 4?

Thanks for all your help guys & ladies!

Isn't the blower resistor the opposite symptoms?!?! Usually 1,2,3 don't work, or only work on high, as if it were in position 4.

Yep Simon is right, I had my resistor go out on me too (actually it was out when I bought the truck) and when the resistor is dead you have OFF and 4 (Full Speed) because those are the only two position on the switch that do not use the resistor.

Could be the switch, or it could be wiring. Try putting it on 4 and tapping the bottom of the blower motor. Mine recently started working intermittently and I found that if I tap the bottom (where the elec connections are) it comes right one.

Yet another thing I need to check out

Thanks guys! I did get the rear hatch fixed. Just adjusted the latch bar that is bolted down in the cargo area. I tapped it just a little towards the front of the Pathy and tightened it down. Works like a charm and YEAH -bounce- -bounce- -bounce- it also fixed my light issue I had. For the longest time I had my dome lights turned off and disconnected the lights under the dash cause they would ficker on and off. Idiot light on the dash for door open would come on also. Funniest little things that effect other things.

Take the motor out, and clean the contacts. Mine did the same thing, and the brushes had worn down, and all the dust created was making them stick. I did that about a year ago, and it's been fine since.

Guest SuperSon

Hey guys I seen some pathy that has electronic controls instead of the lever and cable. Is this something doable if I want to upgrade from lever/cable to electronic?

You'd have to change out the switch panel, as well as the blower motor resistor as well. It gets replaced by an amplifier of some sort. ON top of that, you may need to change wiring harnesses, but I'm not sure on that.
