Anyone have any tips on how to line up the last (back) bolts for a BL? I can't for the life of me line these SOB's up, I tried alot of good shoves, a crappy not long enough pry bar, anything else?

What ever you do don't try to tap on the bolt to get it started. One of the rears on mine wasn't lining up and I tried that. That nut is on a plate thats tack welded to the sides of the frame on the inside and when I hit it I broke the welds and there was no way I was ever going to line it up to get a bite on the threads. Long story short, there's now a 2 1/4" hole in the cargo floor of my truck just above the body mount.

OK another Q. How important is the fan shroud? My dumbas put the upper rad hose on before modding and reinstalling the FS and was thinkin to hell with it :D , I don't mind puttin it back on but does it really make a big diff in coolant/engine temp?

for anyone reading this that is thinking about doing a BL, a good idea is to remove the rear bolts and start your BL bolts in the nuts. THEN lift the body. it keeped my rear holes in line. once the other bolts and blocks were in and LOOSE still. I remove one rear bolt. slid block in and replace bolt. then go to other side. I had no problems lining my bolts up.

depending on where you live and how hot then yes it'll matter...i dont know the severity on our engines but we've done tons of cooling tests at work with different shrouds (on big diesels) and the amount of intrusion and different gaps and no shroud make huge differences...if you disconnect the hose at the radiator not too much coolant comes out...i've done this several times...if i have it off i usually leave it off till i can verify everything since it takes up so much damn room

you can also use this as an opportunity to install electric fans...

and on the body bolt Q...i doubt this will work for a body bolt but usually if i need to line up some holes i take a phillips head screwdriver and place thru 1 or 2 of the holes in the pattern and wiggle it around and it helps out tons to get it lined up...the heaviest thing i've used this on was motor mounts and transmission mtg bolts so it may work on the body if the others are loosened up...

89 that is a good idea, I ended up taking all the 8 bolts I had in back out, that was the only way I got the rears to line up. I did one rear then went to the opposite side front installed it then back to the other rear and then the other side front, after those were in the middles line up fine
