hiya

was hoping for some advice...have a 90 model pathy Z24 motor...just recently put a 40mm susp and a 25mm body lift and put a set of 31" tyres on her...and now she has lost all power...any suggestions for getting some of that power back without spending heaps...it has a set of genie extractors and nothing else.

In the distant future...maybe in a year or 2 i might replace motor but at the moment just want a cheap method if there is one...

thanks

Shouldn't loose too much power, they are gutless to begin with, there are options like headers, exhaust, air intake etc. but these will not make yours much more powerful....those tires are just heavy.... :sniff:

i know a guy that had the 4 banger in his HB pickup running 33's and he didnt seem to act like it had lost too much...

thats interesting in how you achieved 3"s of lift was the body lift homemade? i dont recall seeing a 1" body lift...

what size tire did you come up from? 235X75R15 (or was it 275...its been so long i cant remember what i had b4 i got the 31's)? i have the v6 and i didnt really notice any power change...except the dunlops were a lot stickier than the radials i had on there and it was a lot harder to spin the tires from fast (well as fast as a pathy can go) acceleration

thnx for replys...

i guess acceleration off the mark has only dropped slightly, it's more in 4th, if i get to even a slight incline it will go sluggish...then if on the freeway and whack her in 5th and it the same thing, the slightest hill and i have to go back a gear and i'm a bit slow getting her from 5th to 4th and if a drop too many revs will have to put her in 3rd to get back to speed.

yeh i did the bodylift myself...just went down to a place called specialised wholesale in my home town that deal in engineering plastics and they also have all the bolts and stuff i needed...

It's kind of wierd that there is that much power loss, I suppose it can happen though. You could always just throw on an intake and exhaust and see where that takes you.

Nice truck BTW :aok: That is one crazy front piece you have going on there.

Rotational mass is evil...

Keep your eyes open and try to pick up some alloy wheels.

Even with the VG30, I can feel a significant difference in acceleration (and braking) performance between my 31x10.5" M/T on 15" steel wheels versus the 30.5" (P255/70-16) A/T's on 16" aluminum wheels.

since you just did a body lift, did you pull any vacuum lines off by accident?

where and what are these vacuum hoses?

oh and unccpathfinder...i went up from 225/70R15
