clunk

when i start to let out the clutch and apply throttle, in the first foot, or so there's a very faint clunk, like something is re seating itself maybe? if any one knows help would be great

Does that mean that your moving before it happens or the cluck occurs just as you start to move?

 

If it happens just before or as soon as you start moving check your driveshaft u-joints.

yeah its just as i start moving but only from a dead stop

Check engine mounts and the trans/t-case mount for play or looseness too.

Mine has done a mild thunk like that since I bought it, 5 years ago or so. No problems then or since.

i get the same thing, nothing has come of it, changed the dif oil (rear) and it went away for a cupple of weeks....?

also had the same prob. replaced the rear dif oil also. FIXED. needed the LSD oil in, not the normal gear oil. (I have an LSD) point- use correct gear oil.

I have that same problem, LSD I run a synthetic gear oil with the LSD additive.

If you wheel your truck I would throw strait gear oil in the LSD diff. made mine noticable tighter.

As per the FSM, jack up the rear end by the differential, and spin a tire by hand. If both tires spin in the same direction, it's an LSD. If they spin in opposite directions, you have an open diff.
