Perfomance chips

Any one hear of a chip for our pathys. If so, do they work and how.

The only "performace chip", assuming you have an R50, is those stupid little resistors they sell on ebay. No they do not work.

actually, JWT can make you one. or jason calumn. but just like most everything else from the factory that isn't boosted, it's not really gonna do much unless you have a reason for it, like turbo or stupidcharger.

I've heard the JWT can do some good, although emissions legality seems to go away. First off, there is not a "chip" in the usual pull-and-replace sort of thing. Our WD21 trucks don't have removablve chips as everthing is soldered together- you have to pull the computer board and send it in. They then remove the stock "chip", replace, and send it back to you. Apparently its a couple week procedure including shipping, during which you are without your truck.

Not worth it unless you have other mods already in place, like cams, headers and an intake of some sort. THEN the ECU upgrade really helps bring things together.
