k9sar
Before the rumor mill starts to fly. We want to be up front with all our customers and supporters. Currently Paragon and PCA Corporation (land owner) is in legal dispute over our lease agreement for this property. We have done everything within our powers to honor our agreements with the land holding company, but they are trying to evict us from the premesis so they can sell the property. We are still in business and will remain in business as long as possible and we are fighting this with every measure available. We know the next question is how can you help. Unfortunately, there really isn't anything you can do. We would however, appreciate everyone's hopes and prayers for a good outcome. Thank you for your continued support. 94extreme
thanks for the updated pezzy. here is an article from a few days ago: http://www.timesleader.com/mld/timesleader/16550431.htm i googled the judge and he seems fishy as hell. hope they (paragon) can perserviere. i find it rather laughable that the people bringing the suit in this case, claim that the park operators damaged the land. developing the land into an airport will not damage it? wow. Pezzy
Sorry we didn't get to you sooner. It's been a long day and we just got home (and off the phone) from doing many interviews with the news media. This is a very emotional time and we have a lot of personal feelings that we would love to express, but at this point, we choose to take the high road and maintain professionalism. As some of you may have already heard, the verdict was issued today in favor of Gladstone Associates. We apologize, but at this time, we are very limited in what we can say. But at this point, we fully anticipate fighting this vigorously and through all avenues possible. We appreciate the support of our off-road community and again, please keep contacting editors and people from news stations, not only local level, but state and national level. Please remember that it is important for us to remain professional, well spoken and portray the most positive image that we can for our sport and industry and the events that are happening presently. As more details arise and as we are permitted to divulge more information on the situation and personal commentary, we will do so. Thanks again for your support and we'll see you all on Saturday. Pezzy
WILKES-BARRE – The owner of Paragon Adventure Park scored another victory in court today when a judge ruled that Kyle Knosp – the off-road-vehicle park owner – would keep possession of the park’s land until all appeals on a lease issue have been exhausted. Gladstone Partners L.P. – a group that wants to build a $1.6 billion cargo airport on land partly occupied by the park – sued Knosp, claiming that he breached his 25-year lease with landowner PCA Corp. The Gladstone Partners want Paragon evicted so they can buy the land from PCA Corp. Knosp denied breaching the lease and is appealing an eviction order issued by a lower court. Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Ann Lokuta denied nearly every motion or request Gladstone made at today’s hearing, including a request to recuse herself from the case because of a possible prejudice toward Gladstone’s attorney of record – Jill Moran, who is also the county prothonotary. Lokuta heard arguments on whether a preliminary injunction she issued yesterday to bar Gladstone from the land through the appeal process should remain in effect. Gladstone on Monday had exercised an eviction order from a lower court; they padlocked the park gate and locked Knosp out of his office trailer. The order Lokuta issued today prohibits Gladstone from denying Knosp access to the land and barred Gladstone from interfering with Paragon’s use of the land throughout the appeals process. Her order also requires Knosp to post a $7,648.35 bond to guarantee his appeal, rather than honor Gladstone’s request that he post a $40 million bond. vengeful
That Gladstone Partnership is such a corrupt, BS company. They're tied in with the original judge that had served all of the blows to Paragon, as well as several members of the local legislature that are Anti-OHV. I've done a lot of research on them, and nothing I've found has been good. They were formed in October of 2006, specifically to get the land from Paragon and to give it to the company that wants to build the Airport. The attorney for Gladstone, as well as the first Judge have both been indicted on racketeering and fraud charges, however the indictments were overturned by the Governor's office, who ironically enough, went to law school with the attorney and the Judge. Coincidence? Doubtful! This same Judge fined a man over $14,000 for "Wasting The Courts Time" after the man withdrew a petition. It's a totally effed up situation, but at least they're getting some good news lately.

vengeful
I wheeled there on Sunday. Had 4 trucks in the group. There were maybe another 8-10 trucks in the entire park. A lot of familiar vehicles and a lot of familiar faces. It was nice to see a few of the "Old-Timers," and some "PAP-Virgins" getting out and supporting Paragon. Two of the rigs in our group had never been. Route-Finding was even harder than it usually is because most of the trail signs were removed last weekend and sold as souvenirs. Kyle and Steph were in high-spirits, and happy to be back in operation. Things seem to be going more and more their way. I think last weekends Monthly Ride where close to 1000 trucks showed up over the course of the weekend really illustrated the impact that Paragon has on Hazleton and just how serious the off-road community can be. Keep flying your flags and never stop believing!
