Do you plan on using it off-road? Off-road recreationally or off-road through snow to a snow park? If you want to lift it (which I have yet to do) then put some Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 coils (or 1970's (year?) Ford coils) in the rear and crank the torsion bars with new upper control arms for a couple inches. Can probably get coils for $10 a piece at a junk yard and about $200 for control arms (you need these for a proper alignment after about 2" of lift in the front.)

What I decided to do before lifting it was put a locking differential in the rear so that both my rear wheels will have equal traction instead of only one wheel having power and traction (open differential.) I will be putting that in this weekend. Serious off-roading = locker.

Shocks, tires (tires are pretty much a must for four wheeling) lights (I love my KC Daylighters, they light up the night and are easy to install!)

Everyone has their own list of first mods we want to do. It pretty much means taking your truck fourwheeling and deciding what will suit your needs best. I rarely have clearance issues but always manage to get stuck and/or lose traction, so I decided a locker would be best for me before a lift.

Wheel it stock a couple times (Pathy's are great stock) and then decide based on your needs what mods you should do. And then ask everyone here for their opinions and then you'll be overwhelmed and have no idea where to start with all the information and opinions you'll get!!!! Gotta love discussion boards :D

About the first thing you need would be more agressive tires. 31x10.50 is the size you need, look for a M/T tire for mud use, or an A/T for all-terrain purposes. Which brand you choose is up to you. Me, I always go for the best or most agressive thing I can get that serves my purposes, hence the 33" Swampers. :D

I think I am going to do the K&N filter change. My dad did one on his Range Rover and it works great. I dont know alot about exhaust but I have heard good things about flowmaster. How much is a good exhaust and how much work is involved?
