mws
Yo, whassup homeys... Looking for some ultra low pro dubs fo' my pimpin Pathy...       I am looking for some way to make my wine cabinet mobile but fit. What I need are wheels or rollers that can handle several hundred pounds, yet are less than 2" tall. The wine cabinet is currently 81.5" tall with 2.5" of that being the casters. The opening I need to fit it in is just a scosche under 81.5". Modifying the opening in the wall is doable, but a pain. So I'd prefer to lower the cabinet at least 1/2", and better would be 1" so it can easily roll up onto the carpet without hitting the top of the opening. The cabinet weighs just under 300 lbs empty, so will be about 1000 lbs when occupied. Fortunately, it does not need be movable when filled - I will empty it when moving. But the wheels/rollers will need to be able to handle the full 1000+ load while stationary. Or maybe some kind of extandable feet to take the load. Ideas? Refrigerator wheels and skateboard wheels come to mind...
fordsho90
Go to Grainger and get some casters we use them on our Pizza ovens and other commercial kitchen stuff, they have a wide range of caster and should be able to help you out.

Precise1
Like the man said... Here. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/produ...h&L1=Casters%2C All categorys. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/productIndex.shtml You want the recessed kind, really. Can you modify the bottom to allow, say, 4" castors recessed so only 1" protrudes ? If not, follow the principle of the first link. B

Trainman
You can get wheel sets for putting under fridges that allow you to roll them back and forth, hard to turn though. Hardware stores have them and they are cheap. May work for you.
jj big shoe
How mobile does it need to be? Maybe you could use a set of those "Magic Sliders" they use for heavy furniture. I've got some under a huge TV armoire and they slide pretty well on the tile floor.

They look good - I just need to get my hands on a set and measure how thin they are. Having only 1 axis of motion is a bummer, but I can deal.
