cleaning O2 sensor

Don't know for sure, but GENERALLY, the black is the signal wire, and the other two on a three wire O2 sensor are 12 V for the heater and a ground. Put an ohmeter across any two to confirm. If the reading is infinite, one of the wires is the signal. If the reading is high resistance but continuity is there, those are the two heater wires. And the two heater wires canbe reversed with no problem.

You can pull it and torch it with a propane torch set on low. Heat it up to red-hot, but not much more. Carbon and crap will burn off slightly at that point and you'll get a cherry-red flame. Let it cool off after hitting it with the flame every now and then.

and FYI for VG30i owners...

VG30i (TBI) Oxygen Sensors:

BORG-WARNER Part# OS1170

and Bosch Part# 15207

are the EXACT same thing.. and by exact I mean they are the same part in a different box!

Every identifying code, shrink wrap, the color tone of the wires, even the protective sheathing is the same.

I went with the NTK by ngk. Heck theyre all probably re-branded anyway.Cant go wrong for $40 shipped

My pathy has autolite plugs before (2 years)and it ran just fine then I replaced it with NGK and didnt notice any difference. I also went with NGK wires and honestly I think for $80 I shouldve just bought another Belden from napa with lifetime warranty.

On my next tune up Im going to try this caps and rotors from Jacobs
