squeaky AC UCA's

I knew this would be a problem, and after a few weeks with cranked up sway-a-ways, they've started making noise. It's hard to impress people with a big bad V-6 when it keeps squeaking like a squirell getting hit with a mallet.

 

2 questions before I unbolt the spindles:

 

Are those poly bushings going to come out easy?

 

Are there any proceedures I should follow when re-greasing the bushings to keep them quieter for longer?

 

all I want for Christmas is calmini...

its polly bushings. you will have to learn to live with it. you can remove them and grease them, but it will only last for a little while. after that they will start up again.

I greased mine with the "magical" Neo synthetic watercraft grease and they haven't started squeaking yet after 3 months.

Dangit, that means I'm gonna have squeeks in my trailing arms with the poly bushings. I hate squeeks and creaks and pops....

calmini squeeks even worse.. tap them for zerqs and be doen with it.. a friend of mine did that on his X and no more squirells

mzx: sorry man, I lost you there, what does "tapping" for zerk fittings entail?

drilling, tapping and inserting zerq grease fittings. i'll talk to my bud more about it and if i can get some pix i will.

Zerk fittings allow you to squirt grease into the A-arm and lube the poly bushings periodically so they won't squeak. Superlift A-arms have them already.

Yep, remove the UCA's, drill a hole, tap the hole with the appropriate size tap, screw in grease zerks. Grease, drive, be happy with no more squeaks.

I like the squeaks, they give 'er charactor along with the dent on the hood from that tree branch......but thats another story.
