Last time I did my fuel filter, I....uh.....forgot to depressurize the fuel line.....

 

Yeah, that sucked a lot! Definitely do that!

Even if you depressurize the fuel line, it will still leak about a 1/2-cup all over the place.

Yes it will...but it wont spray it all over you, your garage, and your dog like a pressure washer. The dog was less than amused. I was laughing my butt off until it started to burn.

Probably your technique. Have you driven manual transmission vehicles reguarly before? M/Ts are not as smooth as automatics, but they're a lot more fun.

 

Once you get more used to it, you'll get better at driving it.

Yeah all my other cars are manual. I guess Im just more accustomed to the others.

 

 

Thanks for all the info on the fluids. I hope to change all mine by the end of oct. hopefully.

Well, geez, next time just don't have an open flame around when you change your fuel filter, and you want have to worry about all that annoying fire and smoke. I hope your dog is OK! -bounce-

Oh, he was pissed! He was fine. Once the smell went away, he seemed to have forgotten about it...though, he stopped laying next to me while I was working on the truck...
