One of them, the RSX (?) is nitrogen charged and the others are the standard hydraulic shock. I think both the 9000's and RSX have adjustible ride settings, but someone is going to have to confirm all this :D

The RS9000 and the RS9000X are the adjustable ones. The 9000's are 5-way adjustable, and the 9000X's are 9-way adjustable(with triple tubed body walls).

The 5000's are standard heavy duty offroad valved shocks, RSX's are nitrogen-charged, with different internal valving that self-adjusts for each impact or compression. The 5000's just react the same way with each bump.

Top of the line:

Monroe, MI, June 12, 2003 - A new line of fully adjustable gas-charged remote reservoir shock absorbers engineered for serious off-road performance has been introduced by Rancho, the world leader in suspension technologies for light trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

New Rancho Pro Series shock absorbers combine the brand's world-class RS9000X nine-position adjustable technology with an advanced remote reservoir configuration ideally suited to hard-core off-road driving, where heat-related shock fade often can be an issue.

Can i just add here one important thing!!!

The RS5000 are NOT gas charged!!!

They are a cellular gas design.(The inside of the shock is fillled with oil and closed cell foam material with gas incapsulated in the cells of the foam). This means amongst other things they have better heat dissapation than the gas shocks, and can be run at any angle, up side down or what ever. It's the same tech used in most high quality steering dampers. They also have the same ten stage valving as used in the the other rancho shocks, you just can select which stage you want to start at.

Pete.
