FUELER
EDIT: cool guy on 4x4parts.com told me: " the easiest way to do it is to get the haynes manual from an auto parts store, it has step by step instructions. The quick and dirty is , pull the computer out, turn the ignition on but do not start the engine. then you turn the screw in the computer through the hole all the way (forget Which way) wait for 2 seconds, then turn it back...then you get flashie codes." I have found autozones free OBD2 scanner ($60 value) to be even easier Edited July 22, 2006 by FUELER

94extreme
OBD II Codes With Consult 1. Turn ignition Off. 2. Connect ‘‘Consult’’ the data link connector (DLC), located behind fuse box cover. 3. Turn ignition On. 4. Touch ‘‘Start.’’ 5. Touch ‘‘Engine.’’ 6. Perform each diagnostic test mode according to each service procedure. Without Consult 1. Turn ignition On. 2. Turn diagnostic mode selector on ECU fully clockwise and wait until inspection lamps flash. Number of flashes displayed indicates corresponding mode. 3. Note number of flashes, then immediately turn diagnostic mode selector fully counterclockwise. 4. If ignition is turned Off during diagnosis, in each mode, and then turned back on again after power to the ECU has dropped off completely, diagnosis will automatically return to Mode I. 5. For description of modes, proceed as follows: 1. (Mode I): with engine stopped, system in bulb check state. with engine running, system in malfunction warning state. 2. (Mode II): with engine stopped, system in self diagnostic results state. with engine running, system in front O2S monitor state. Clearing Codes If using a scan tool, follow tool manufacturer’s instructions to clear Codes. Using a small screwdriver to turn the diagnostic mode selector switch, located on the side of the ECM/ECU, fully clockwise. After waiting two seconds, rotate the switch to the full counterclockwise position. The diagnosis will end and memory will then be cleared. Disconnect the car battery for at least 24 hours. SkinnyPedal
 Ahh! So there is an 0021 code. And I thought they all started with 11xx or 12xx Silly me Sorry to dig up an old thread - anybody know what is going on when an R50 throws P0021? All I can find is this page: http://www.engine-light-help.com/P0021-che...gine-light.html ...but it's pretty generic info, so I wondered if anybody had VQ specific experience?? For instance, code 1132 and 1138 both = swirl control valve? because there are many that are duplicate. these codes are the same for all vehicles. they've doubled them to have options in the future.
