So, how is it that the inspection tech diagnosed a bad strut bearing and failed the inspection because of it (plus the others)? Who'da thunk PA would have more strict vehicle inspections than California? Go figure...
huh?? theres no vehicle inspections in Cali?? other than smog check, and the occasional trip to the referee when you get caught with illegal parts....
and CHP inspection after buying a salvage car from a junkyard...

VG33 QX4's have 110 amp alternators, you could try one of those. But the Quest is still 10 amps higher.
-
Nissan Terrano vs. Nissan Terrano Regulus
Doesn't matter if you allow QX4's or not, nobodys ever going to waste a vote for a Qx4 anyways.
so let us in.

that thing is gorgeous!
Im thinking of getting one. how much is insurance?

its actually comfortable in cold to cool weather. When it gets hot out, I at least run the fan which solves this problem.
Maybe it was cold in Japan when they designed this car ?
-
this has been discussed before. All auto climate control R50's do this. Mine does. Regardless of what your temp is set at, If you turn the climate control OFF, the hot/cold diverter switches completely to the hot position, and the directional flapper switches to FEET. (you can hear this stuff move for a few secs when you press OFF) and then you're feeling air from outside that has passed through the heater core ! Thats the way Nissan designed it. No idea why but i'm sure there's a valid reason.

lets see if our NPORA detective, alexrex20, googles this to find the source.... hahaha

TO all the Manuals across the land---if Pennzoil Synchromesh is an approved fluid, I highly recommend it!It works superb in any gear grinding Honda, and in the Winter is really not as thick as some of the boo-hoo bears complain.
I know that the dealership sells and uses Pennzoil for our differentials - perhaps they use the same for M/T ?
PS whats "winter"? I have never experienced such a thing
If the Mobil1 isn't approved I will look into the Synchromesh...Not sure if its approved but I have Mobil1 ATF in both my AT and transfer case and it works great!

theoretically, spacers (when installed above the strut) should not make any difference in topping out...
-
Yes, tires flex, but at the bottom, where the pressure is.
look through a rockcrawling magazine and its easy to find examples of flexed out tires.
If youre pushing the bottom of the tire OUT, the top of it will go IN and vice versa!
thats why if your tire is within a few millimeters of the strut, you still risk touching....
-
also in the fluid specs, mine says the AT takes 9 quarts while the transfer case gets 3 1/8 quarts,
-
Filled from the same spot for both.
what??? how is this possible... cause i have a 99.5 with the VG33 engine and auto (pushbutton) transfer case and the transfer case and auto tranny definitely do not fill in the same spot
the auto tranny fills at a spout in the engine bay (where the ATF dipstick is)
the transfer case has a fill bolt on top of the transfer case itself.
my nissan manual does in fact say they use the same fluid but 2 pages later it shows the 2 seperate fill locations.....
-
The Auto tranny and the 4WD system share the same transmission fluid. Have you checked the transmission fluid level recently or flushed it anytime recently ? Just wondering if you're low on fluid and turning the engine on and off is giving it just enough extra startup oomph to engage.
the auto tranny and the transfer case do NOT share the same fluid. Unless the seal between the two is leaking, then they do
