  1. I took off 1/2 to 3/4" on the side that contacts the shock. I used a torch and cleaned it up with a grinder. Now there is 1/4 inch of clearance throughout the whole range. I didn't take a picture but I have to do the other side and I will try to take an after pic to post I like the Nitro shocks, they have a good feel and should be more durable driving fast on bad roads.
  2. I also just got some Skyjacker nitro shocks and they are too fat for the Calmini UCAs. Is there a problem with grinding the control arm for clearance?
  3. I have an L&P center link and a steering stabilizer. I was wondering what ball joints and tie rod ends have worked well. I have seen the ball joints from $20 to $60 and want to know if it is worth it to spend the extra money.
  4. It's time to replace all of the suspension parts that I have destroyed wheeling. Ball joints, tie rods, pitman arm. Pretty much anything on ebay i'm sure will be junk. I have been looking at RockAuto and think that I will probably go with the Spicer pro grade. What seems to hold up the best to wheeling with a 3" lift? Thanks for any input.
  5. Instead of $50 for the front two I got all 4 for $60. I put the front two in. They each only have 4 bolts, got it done in 15 min. now I've got leather under my ass
  6. I was already planning on buying them tomorrow and doing all of the wiring. I just thought that it was a sweet bonus that most of the wiring is already done.
  7. I only looked under the driver side and under the carpet there is a blue with three wires and a white one with seven wires. I haven't had time to test them with the test light, but it sounds like the blue one is the one I want. That makes this a really easy swap if you just plug it in then wire in a switch. Thanks for the info

  9. ??? What lesson, they weren't even on their property. "Authorities said the couple fired after they mistakenly thought the group was trespassing on their property". The pictures of them also look like they have a habit of using meth or crack. That can cause you to be paranoid and not think straight. It also says that they had a sign "Trespassers will be shot. Survivers will be reshot!! Smile I will." When you point a shotgun at people and fire it and kill someone that is murder. If you accidently discharge a shotgun and it kills someone that is manslaughter. This looks like murder.
  10. I Saw the topic in the garage that said the XE has the wiring already. I looked under the driver seat and didn't see anything. Would the plug be exposed or under the carpet? Is it rare or common to have it? The one that had it was in Canada
  11. Has anyone here done this? A guy will give me both front seats for $50. I know I will have to do the wiring for the heat, but just wondering if the tracks will match up. Thanks This is for WD21
  12. I have some surface rust on my frame behind the rear wheels. It is on the outside so I am sure that it is on the inside too. It isn't rotting or anything, I whacked it with a hammer and it is still strong. I am planning on using some zero rust on the outside in a month when I will have a garage to work in. Is there anything that I can do about the inside of the frame??
  13. Some Junked Xterras and Frontiers have them, and some junk yards will sell them cheap. I got the front R&P for $50 and I will get a third for $250 that way in the swap he will just change the carrier to the ARB and won't have to worry about pinion depth. Then I can sell the 33 spline LSD and make some of the money back. The 4.9s will get me back to stock. I am wondering if the added weight and drag from 32X11.5 tires will make much of a difference.
  14. It will cost me about $1000 to gear to 4.9. $700 of that is for labor. While everything is open why not throw in an ARB right, there is another $760. How much will they help out with torque. I live in the mountains of Colorado and go over passes and big hills on I70 often. I can either be in 3rd at 4000-4500rpm or in 4th with the rpm's falling when climbing on the highway. I would like to be able to stay in 4th. If this won't help too much what about a Jim Wolfe ECU?? The wife said I can spend some money on the truck so I gota do something. I was going to put a poll, but it didn't work.
  15. Does anyone know if the 125amp from a 96-00 Quest will fit? 110 will be enough for subs, lights and an e-fan but I found a 125 for $10 tested with a warranty
  16. I said that it should run better, not that I want more horsepower. I have cams, intake and exhaust to improve the performance. I want to smooth out the idle, and a guy told me that removing the egr (<-I got it right can I play with it now alex?) would help the idle. I don't have to pass inspections where I live so that isn't a factor. It was a simple question and I was just asking for advice (that is why we are here right). From what I understand it is closed when you are giving the engine gas, and open when you are just cruising. So would it be open or closed at idle?
  17. It's for the ABS brakes. There is probably something wrong with the sensor, or it just got disconnected.
  18. Does it help with mpg? I thought it was just for emissions. Wouldn't it raise combustion temps because it is putting exhaust into the chamber instead of fresh air. tmorgan, I just see the pipe going from the header and three vacuum lines. Am I missing something?
  19. Will it hurt anything if you bypass the erg by disconnecting the tube that goes from the header to the erg and plugging the holes? The engine should run better without exhaust in the intake.
  20. I'm going to do at least the bottom half with Herculiner and rattle can the top this summer. Does anyone know if there will be a problem painting the Herculiner? I know it comes out kind of gray so I was going to paint it black. I will post pics when it is done, hopefully July.
  21. Both of my Pathy's had problems with the switch. My 93 the passenger light wouldn't work, and the brights on my 92. Taking out the switch and cleaning the connections fixed it on both of them. This seems to be a very common problem.

I called about 30 shops from car-part.com none of them would ship just the third even if I bought the whole axle. The best quote that I got was $550. It would be better just to buy the r&p from AC

  24. I am going to swap some 4.9's for my 4.3's. I'm not going to pay $450 for the rear ring and pinion. All of the salvage yards that have the axle with the 4.9 won't sell just the third. So, if I buy a 33 spline axle with disc brakes from an X is it a clean swap for the 31 spline axle with drums? I figure if I have to buy the whole axle I might as well use the whole thing?
