  1. Definitely. 4x4parts.com used to carry JDM clear corners but for some reason have stopped. eBay offers the cheapest alternative from what I can tell.
  2. You may also want to look into aftermarket front struts. KYB is high-end and afforable. You mentioned coil spacers. I take it you're referring to the rear. Should you decide on rear coil spacers, you may also want to look into front leveling spacers.
  3. Exactly. SFDing is new territory for the most part when it comes to R50s. There are some out there, however. And yes, don't expect to go much bigger than 32s with the AC or OME lift coils. Even with a SFD, 33-35" tires seem to be the norm but I've seen 37s. Anything is possible with enough time and money, though. BTW, nice pics.
  4. Sick! Just sick! You know I want all this stuff; I just can't say when as I still waiting on this bloody SFD kit...
  5. I disagree. I have the OME HD coils installed and went with 265/75R16 Toyo A/Ts and the turning radius is still pretty reasonable for a SUV. For wheels, proper backspacing is important to consider when going with larger tires. In my case, at full lock there was significant rubbing on the front splashguards; since installing an aftermarket front bumper it's been totally eliminated. I'd say go with what your preference is but also it's good to consider how you use your vehicle. If you spend most of your time driving on tarmac, a close to stock size tire will keep your mileage in check but that's about it. If you go with bigger meats all-around your mileage will suffer but it's good for hitting the trails, provides additional ground clearance (albeit very little) and does improve a rig's overall appearance (in my opinion, at least).
  6. Awesome plan!!! Keep us posted on this build. It'll be nice to see what kind of gains you'll get from this. Cheers!
  7. Agreed. Good thing you found that early and avoided any bullsh*t. Methinks it's definitely time for 33s Andrew!!
  8. That's just the thing. Most follow a "which ever comes first" approach. I've had my R50 for about 18 months, and have put on about 14,500km. I've changed the oil an filter three times, usually going with a six-month timeframe. 14,500/3=~4,900km which is close enough to 5,000km. Six months came faster so I went with that. In your case, a similar approach seems reasonable. It really depends on how you drive. My city/highway ratio is about 80/20 and two oil and filter changes per year have worked quite well. I've done very little offroading but when I have gone I've always made sure to check my oil after depending on how hard I pushed the engine. I love how much of a tank the VG33E is and to that end it's great on oil (in my personal experience, anyway). The most important factors to consider would be mileage over time and the conditions in which you drive.
  9. Not up here. Mine reads 10W30. In any event, 5W30 is a better option, anyway.
  10. Yeah... Well, scratch that for now. Edge isn't available in Canada. Fail. Syntec it shall remain!!
  11. Nissan OEM filter w/ Castrol Syntec 5W-30 but for the next change (this weekend) I'm debating trying Castrol Edge and seeing if it lives up to the hype. I'm still not sure, though. As for intervals, I tend to stick with either 5,000km (~3,000miles) or every 6 months. Pretty much in spring, then again before the snow hits.
  12. How do these keep anything clean in winter? Isn't that what the wiper's for anyway?
  13. I hope so. It's a free repair so if you can give your Pathy a day at a stealership, do it. I'm not sure everything that is replaced but I was told it takes a fair amount of time to get it done. Bear in mind, stealerships are never fast.
  14. Man, the mileage is high on your dad's '00, eh? I remember when you told me it hit 200k... That doesn't seem like very long ago.
  15. F*ck the stupid manual! I just spoke to my buddy (certified Nissan mechanic) and he puts 5W30 in his '97. I shall follow suit.
  16. Doing an oil change this weekend, prepping the R50 for nasty winter... *shudder* I know the manual says 10W30 is the best oil for the VG33E but I've also heard of people going with 5W30, especially in Canada what with the colder temperatures in winter. I would think the difference to be negligible but I just thought I'd throw this out there.
  17. Yeah but an additional 4" of clearance and 33s will look waaaaaaaaaaaay better.
  18. Uh-oh, you just opened a can of worms, Jaya...
  19. X2. Definitely my guess, too. Maybe it needs to be replaced?
  20. Yep, the DRL module was to blame. Damn welds... Anyhoo, problem solved and a new module is in!
  21. A 5-speed R50 is not hard to find at all... Even a later year WD21 with a manual transmission is easy to find.
  22. Nearly five years later and still nothing... They probably caught on to how stupid that would be and kaiboshed the project. Yep, 2 bills seems to be the going rate for a proper tint job. That's what I paid for 20% all-around on my R50.
