  1. I have a 2003 SE with the same wheels, and the Warn hubs WILL NOT fit. You need a center bore in the wheel of 4", and the bore of those wheels is about 3.5". You need new wheels or to have the have the bore enlarged at a machine shop.
  2. I have been getting my front brakes from the dealer. Before you laugh, consider: I've never had to do the rear, or needed rotors. They always last me around 50,000 miles, don't squeal, don't kick out tons of brake dust, and stop the truck adequately. The price was always within a few bucks of other shops in my area. I'm not so easy on my brakes, either. Stop n go commuting, off-roading, some towing, 80 mph highways to 15 mph ramps, etc. 121k on my third set.
  3. How frequent are your oil changes? If you go 5,000 miles, 2+ quarts of oil may be acceptable. I have the same year and engine as you and add at least 1.5 quarts per 3000 miles. It has been this way since about 60k. The 3.5 just seems to be an oil burner.
  4. My 2003 does the exact same thing. It's annoying. I want to get new coils and shocks but the wife won't let me.
  5. The most I have towed with my Pathy was a full landscape trailer around 3500 lbs. I kept the OD off in the city due to stoplights, traffic, etc. Once on the open road, I turned the OD on while on flat terrain and was moving at a constant speed. As soon as the tranny started to downshift a lot, (and it will on all but the slightest grades), I took the OD off. Never went above 65, never had the AC on. I think it depends on the conditions and terrain in which you are driving, and not so much the weight. But if your towing the full 5000 lbs, with a full load of gear and the AC on, probably better to keep the OD off. You definately notice a trailer behind a Pathfinder.
  6. The parking brake warning light on my 2003 SE 4x4 with 93,000 miles suddenly started turning on about a week ago. It happens on the first drive of the day when the car is started cold, stays on for 5-10 minutes, goes off, comes back on again a few times, then goes off completely for the rest of the day. It also went on for a brief second today during a moderate panic stop from about 30 mph. The parking brake appears to be working as normal, although when I pull it up while driving, it seems to have very little effect at slowing the vehicle. Braking action is the same, distances are not longer and the pedal does not go to the floor. My front pads (Nissan Brand) have about 20% left, or 43K on them. The rears have not been serviced yet. I set the parking brake 99% of the time while parked. Weather is moderate here in Phoenix, about 35-65 degrees. Any ideas on what this could be? Should I get the codes read? Thanks.
  7. 17 hwy (under 80) 16 hwy (over 80) A/C has never made a difference on the highway 15 city (no A/C) 14 city (w/ A/C) 13 city (w/ A/C over 110 degrees) I once got 20 mpg going downhill from Flagstaff (7k ft) with no A/C with a tank full of branded, pure, non-smog area 87 octane. Oh the things I keep track of on my truck...
  8. Nice rims, but no idea on the make/model. Looks like it might be from Australia, judging by the amount of accessories, terrain/landscape, and shape of the license plate. That rig must have quite the cooling system to have the grille blocked like that.
  9. I've got a 2003 with an Optima Red Top. Fits just fine.
  10. You guys lose MPG's in the winter like I lose them in the summer here in the desert. My winter mileage is up to 16 now @ 60 degrees whereas in the summer it was 13 @ 110 degrees.
  11. The center bore on my wheels are somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 1/2 inches. It's such a pain that a 1/2 inch is potentially costing me up to 2 mpg's!
  12. Hey everybody, long time lurker, first time poster. The name is Steve and I'm from Phoenix, AZ. I have the same screen name on the other Pathfinder board. I drive a 2003 Pathy SE 4x4 that is just one payment away from being all mine. While most of the time my Pathy is on the pavement, I do hit the many off road trails around here on the weekends. And now that I won't be making payments, hopefully I will have a little dough left over to fix up my ride with a new suspension, sliders, skids, ARB... Hit me up if you want to hit the (easier - don't laugh, I'm on sagging stock suspension and my tires have 50k) trails around Phoenix or (a few times a year) San Diego. Steve
  13. Now, I have heard that the Warns will not fit the 16" wheels on the 2003-2004 or the 17" wheels. The center bore of the wheel has to be at least 4". If I am wrong, someone please give me proof otherwise! I have been thinking about putting these on my '03. But I'm skeptical about machining out my wheels in order to get them to fit.
