I just got off the phone with Rough Country, trying to order UCA's. Guy told me he had to sell them packaged with the shackles. Price was somewhere between 230-240$. He told me he'd give me a good deal and gave me the UCAs and shackles for 185$, 196$ shipped to 77502.

Excellent looking safari rack man. Adds alot of character to the truck.

May have to change out the lock barrel. Not sure how involved it is, I've never done one.

No worries bud. Let us know how it turns out.

No sir, button only needs to be pushed in to remove keys from ignition. Looking around I found this: Step 1: Make sure the transmission is in park (for cars with automatic transmissions). Step 2: Set the parking brake to prevent the car from rolling farther against the curb. Step 3: Pull hard on the steering wheel while turning it in both directions. If this doesn't free the wheel, move on to step 4. Step 4: Release the parking brake and put the transmission in neutral. Let up on the foot pedal just enough to rock the car slightly. Step 5: Turn the steering wheel again. The key should turn now This was off some howTO site. Not sure if it will help but worth a shot.

Sounds like the truck is upset because it just sat there all weekend. :tonguefinger: Seriously though, I'm not sure of anything that would cause you to be unable to turn the key aside from the steering lock mechanism malfunctioning. Has it ever been difficult to turn before?

Road Trip from Florida to Alaska in the path!

Everyone keeps saying survival whistles. I guess I must have read it wrong, but I thought he was talking about the whistles that mount to your hood or bumper and are there to deter deer from jumping out in the road? I'm sure you all have seen them before. Little black things, when air passes through they emit a high pitch whistle. Friend of mine from Arkansas swears by them, I've never tried them so I don't know. -
I'd like to know WHY this is illegal? Not disputing wether it is, or isn't. Just wondering why. People build custom things all the time. Doesn't make sense to me that you can't use a diesel engine in a car that was gas from the start. My father used to have an '83 chevy caprice with a diesel engine in it. Got it from my grandfather in Montana, and had it registered in oregon, and then registered again in Texas. Once again, not disputing yes or no, just trying to figure out why.

Here are my finished bumper brackets. Will mount them up tomorrow and post some pics.

I can't really say either way bud. When I go to that link this is what I get "Dieses Angebot (...=STRK:MEWA:IT) wurde entfernt oder ist nicht mehr verfügbar. Vergewissern Sie sich bitte, dass Sie die richtige Artikelnummer eingegeben haben. Wenn das Angebot von eBay entfernt wurde, betrachten Sie es bitte als storniert. Hinweis: Angebote, die vor mehr als 90 Tagen beendet wurden, werden bei eBay nicht mehr angezeigt" Loosely translated: This offer (...=STRK:MEWA:IT) was removed or is no longer available. Reassure yourself would ask that you input the correct article number. If the offer was removed by eBAY, regard it please as cancels. Reference: Offers, that were concluded before more than 90 days, are indicated in eBAY no longer Looks like they removed it?

Kiwipete you are the man. This is exactly what I was looking for bud. This is how I plan on doing mine, I just couldn't remember where I saw it. I've been trying to explain this to a friend and its much easier with visual aids. Thanks again man.

I just looked through crutchfields site, using your vehicle year, and yeah looks like thier site is jacked up at the moment. But on Best Buy's website(not sure if you have one near you, but just as an example) Alpine 5x7s Best Buy. Here's a set of decent Alpine 5x7s that fits your vehicle(Again, not sure on your budget, just giving you an example). Here is the set I bought from Circuit City. Polk 5x7s Circuit City. This shows they fit in your vehicle also. So here's a couple examples that show ya you have options. If you purchase a set of speakers, I won't guarantee(sp?) that all the screws holes will line up perfectly, but some of them will and you'll be able to install them easy. Difficulty for all four speakers maybe 2-3/10 for first time.

Before anyone says anything, I know I know . I'm looking for a picture I believe I saw on these forums of how some one cut the factory brackets and welded them higher, and then welded in some braces. I've been searching now, and I can't seem to find the picture. Anyone remember what picture I'm talking about or have one like it?
-
I just recently replaced all 4 of my speakers (2 Front Doors, 2 Rear Ceiling) with Polk 5x7s. The holes didn't quite line up as nice as I would have liked but they fit just the same. And they sound sexcellent. Not to mention Circuit City had a deal (not sure if its still going) for them, buy 1 pair get second pair half off. Think crutchfield was running this same deal for a while.
