  1. emry cloth works pretty well. a little easier to get it in there then a file.
  2. head gasket is a definite possibilty. i just thought he ought to start with the simplest stuff. and he didn't mention yo-yo effect. the high temp reading is a classic trapped air symptom.. not that there couldn't be some other issues.
  3. there is a little plastic screw in the upper hose that you have to loosen and run the car and let the water circulate a few times. heat on full blast. or you undo the rad cap and do the same. the first method is better.
  4. burp the cooling system man. it has trapped air in it. you said you changed the t-stat. i bet that's the problem here.
  5. yeah, there is a schematic somewhere here that was posted in the last week or so.
  6. lol. you edited while i responded. your avitar makes me laugh but it also freaks me out a bit.
  7. some manufaturers sell special attachments. maybe worth a gooogle.
  8. check all the bushings. something has got to be loose.
  9. well, try the switch itself. otherwise i am stumped without being able to see it with my own 2.
  10. shocks: a lot meaning more then twice. could be panhard or some other brace like that. is this in the front or back?
  11. sounds like a wireing issue since only on one side. check the plug at the bulb. wiggle the wires while the low beams are "on."
  12. not sure about r50s but on wd21 the whole harness comes in on the passenger side. really the best place to go through the fire wall. a little bit of PITA; it's water tight but doable with a little grimassing and sweat.. maybe a couple of curse words too. switched? for (+) you can try to tap into the fuse box.
  13. lifting is not a must but helps. don't even mess with any tires but mudders if you think you're gonna go off road a bunch. they make all the difference. they are just fine on pavement albeit a little louder.
  14. speaking of location: where the heck are at chucky? also look for the frapp map we got going here. you'll see folks all over the globe.
  15. or99, what's up with the montana plates? i thought it was GA? oh yeah, welcome to the forum rmd!
  16. check the output of your alt. to see if it's working. the rest i dunno because i am not sure what you wrote.
  17. something gotta be loose and not connecting. look at the wire condition also.
  18. OE or OEM means genuine Nissan parts and those are only available at the stealers. it also means not cheap. most go with aftermarket replacments and i haven't heard any problems with those.. they are also way cheaper, for the most part.
  19. engineering safety calculations dictate that you half and quarter the numbers you come up with.. i felt safe going a 100k on a 60k belt.. and guess what.. the newer wd21 can go to 110k according to nissan..
  20. funny? hmmm. i sure ain't laughing..
  21. seems my milage is increasing. i got like 260mi from this last tank.. and it was all city driving. before all i could get was 200-220.. hooray.. -bounce-
