no need to assume, he said automatic.
  5. i'd imagine. 94=wd21 96=r50 body styles.
  6. mobil1 makes filters too. you sure it's valve tap? maybe the manifold is warped.. bad bolts... it's a common issue on these pups.
  7. no. you'll have to take the tires off.
  8. you can't tell if the lines are any good from the outside unless super obvious outside damage. if there is no fluid coming out of one of them i bet it's a gonner. the next thing, if everything is aok would be the master cylinder. do you hear any gurgling coming from there? or a leak on the booster? they may not be there for the MC to be shot. the only way i was able to tell, besides the pedal going to the floor, was when i took it off and manually pushed on the plunger. it went in way easy.
  9. they are metric though.. lol take a few different sizes with you when you get under there.. lol
  10. there is really no adjustment up front. just push the pistons in and put new pads in and close the cage. tighten them and you're done. your prob is most likely air in the lines. on the back however, you have to tighten the ratcheting adjuster to snug (besides springs and pins and e-brake) the drums shouldn't spin easily. google drim brakes, i know i posted a link somewhere here before that gives you pics and step by step plus bleeding procedure from a search like that.
  11. i think you need to bleed them again. the symptoms you describe sound like air in the lines. wait for your buddy to help you with that too. i'd try to get it flush so all three pieces touch the back the same way otherwise it's gonna wear funny and you're not getting the exact contact that they designed them for. no at this point just wait if you can. i don't have time to describe the whole proper bleeding procedure and i am not sure if that's not what happened here. search maybe, becuase on more then one occasion prices1 wrote it out. others have too. good luck
  12. they don't bend just from sitting.. something else must have done it if in fact that's the case.
  13. laptop is actually easy to hide. that's what i want to hook up. it has all of the US at a glance.. way better then the hand held units. outside of my vehicle i use map and compass. there just isn't a better substitute. no batteries needed.
  14. nope but if you search hard enough you can find the linky.
  15. well, i hope that fixes his prob . sounds to me like at least one hose is done for. regardless, it's an item one should do along with calipers. everytime i had to put on new calipers (and this is numerous times on all my different vehicles) i have always put on new hoses and found that every single time the hoses were gone. they are relatively cheap.. think SAFETY!
  16. well, at least a few of us here have done the aftermarket upgrade and sounds like we all enjoyed them and they worked just fine. don't just fail because of your buddy.
  17. you need new hoses. they go bad on the inside and you'd never know. get both sides also.
  18. search the forums for flanges. that a pretty common thing on r50s.. not sure if the symptoms you describe are the flange problem as i drive wd21 but they do sound familiar and i think last time a read this kind of thing was on the flanges threads.. it wasn't discussed long ago.. maybe 3 or 4mo.. maybe less. maybe some other owners of r50s will step in tonight. more costly? could be because then you may mess up the cvs, and other steering components.. plus safety can definitely be compromised.. start by looking at the tires.. maybe you lost a weight or two.. maybe broke some belts in the tire.. start small then work up to it.. lift the truck and shake stuff, better yet, have someone do it while you look.
  19. at this many miles prob ought to. if you have the money do it and save the old ones (if still decent) as trail spares.
