  1. cat... catalytic converter?
  2. Some random facts about this car: Although popular in a number of American sources, the most notable appearance of Z-cars was in the Transformers series, where 3 members of the 1984 to 1985 Autobots (Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen) turned into different models of the 280ZX. Datsun Australia offered several 280ZX cars, painted specially in Benson & Hedges gold, as prizes during the 1983 and 1984 World Series Cricket tournaments. One of these cars was won by Viv Richards of the West Indies. Paul Newman raced a Datsun 280ZX, and starred in a series of commercials advocating seatbelt safety in 1981. In the anime Hellsing Alucard drives a z-car. In the pilot episode of Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, a woman agrees to bear the child of Satan in exchange for a Datsun 280ZX. In the TV series Magnum P.I., the character Orville "Rick" Wright drives a Nissan 280ZX. *blushes* Screw the impreza or the skyline... I want to get one of these for my Fiance... wont' EVER happen (how the hell would I even FIND one that works?) but I'd love to!
  3. I have to admit... not a pathfinder, but that car is... smexy...
  4. Nah, it's dry now and it's still doing that... been dry the last three days *pouts* I need to replace my plug wires and all that... it's a plan for when I have $$$ I'll check the airflow sensor ASAP
  5. *bump* My truck is running a bit smoother... not by much. It seems that in the rain it gets much much worse... this leads me to believe it's either: Bad fuel injectors Bad fuel/air ratio Bad air intake any ideas?
  6. Hm... okay. I thought you mean the R9000 could have their damping controled via the stock switch.... Would I be good with the Pro Comp ES9000 series shocks... I really don't have 400 dollars to spend on shocks They're also gas adjust... I'm asuming they can be controlled from in cab too?
  7. Is there any way to get a new set of "stock" shocks then? is it worth it? Simon...w hat do you mean by the dampening... how can I hook that stock cab button up to the RS9000's? Is it worth the extra cost?
  8. Alright, got a big worry on my hands... my truck is running very, VERY rough. Very little power, and it sounds bad... think like rototiller when it can't find the right fuel / air mixture... I'm thinking either injectors, spark plugs, or bad lines? Fuel filter, PCV valve, air filter, are all good... know this for a fact (they're brand new ) I am due for an oil change soon... and I have a small oil leak from the headgasket which I want to replace ASAP but it isn't major... like... add a few ounces once a month and I'm good kind of minor leak. The strangest symptom is, as I approach about 3200 rpm, it starts to smooth out... and as I drop under 2000 rpm it gets SO rough I fear it will stall and I cannot maintain speed no matter what... I've seen before about pulling codes... no check engine light or anything and I don't know how to pull codes anyway. Any ideas? I'm starting to wonder if I should be running her at all if she's sputtering like that... my poor baby is sick
  9. Wait... so don't use the overdrive unless you're on the highway... or don't use the overdrive on the highway? I'm confused... I thought O/D helped decrease strain on the tranny and improved fuel economy...
  10. Gah... so the in cab controller is pointless? I haven't been able to find shocks that'll work from it... even the Nissan dealer near me said they don't carry any that'd work!
  11. Ah, alrighty then... so do those shocks come with their own switch that I have to run in?
  12. http://www.4wheelparts.com/PPT2196T3660.aspx Also, is that any good for a new transmission cooler?
  13. There is a button on the middle console of my '90 pathy that adjusts the shocks... what shocks make use of this? I'm looking at the Pro Comp ES3000 shocks... would they be a worthwhile upgrade to the standard OEM shocks currently installed? What would the advantages be? Keep in mind this truck rarely goes off road... though it does see decent amounts of snow an bad roads.
  14. eh... I'd rather be able to lift it up in any event
  15. Yeah, I was reading thru it, but it doesn't give many links that are helpful for me I'm not really sure what i"m looking at with em. Quick quesiton - what is the difference (and pro/con) of a body lift kit compared to a suspension lift kit?
  16. Whats the overall price on this do you figure?
  17. Mine only happens when making a sharp (read, 90* or more) RIGHT TURN that has a dip of more than two inches while making the turn. Any other time, no noise *shrug*
  18. Alright, so disregard the online "manual" I found, got it Can you point me towards some good coolers? I'm looking at some... I don't even know where they'd GO much less how to install them. I'm trying to find something that's somewhat noobie friendly... seems a loosing battle
  19. Ah, okay. Yeah, just thinking with the heavy winter PA is supposed to get, I may need em... my transfer case is OLD and I don't want tos tress it too much... I also need a AT Oil cooler...
  20. Well, thing is, I live in an appartment complex and people let their dogs @!*% just about anywhere Naw, real reason is simple - if I'm going to have to get under the truck, i'd rather simply lift it up so i can do the undercoat replacement while I'm there. That and I can get a better look at what's going on.
  21. aighty, will do Getting under is the hard part (no garage to speak of, and best I can do is a 1.5 foot drive-on ramp) but I should be able to manage
  22. Aight, so shift into 4WD, then shift out again but don't backup. Then I can shift on the fly into 4WD if I should need it... and ONLY do this on poor traction surfaces. Go it
  23. any suggestions for a kit that's good n "easy" for a newbie to install? That 2 MPG increase is looking mighty nice...
  24. My tranny fluid hasn't been replaced in over 50k miles (my bad, I know) but it's still the same pinkish red that went in and has a sweet smell to it... it's a LITTLE thin by my understanding... but yeah... should I do a drain and refill? Also, what's a good tranny cooler to look at? I'm absolutely LOST looking at them... I was just reading thru the auto tranny fluid change topic in the 1990 pathy area... yeah... now I'm scared. 50k is a might bit over 15k
  25. @!*%... could this be what's up with my '90 SE pathy? She's well over that milestone (at 140k miles and climbing) but she has some odd stutter in low RPM ranges
