Read this already: the best way to use seafoam is to suck it directly into the intake... but this can be a bit tricky. find a vac line that goes directly to the intake (the smaller diameter of the hose the better 'flow control' will be). start the engine and SLOWLY suck the seafoam our of the can with the vac line in SHORT BURSTS. too much too fast will hydrolock the engine and may or may not cause major problems. the main thing is to find a rythem that works by stopping just at the point that you hear the engine start to bog down. after a couple of mins the foam will work its way through the system and flood the CAT... thats when you get to watch all the pretty smoke come out the tail pipe and fill the entire neighborhood in a thick pea-soup fog. if you actually like your neighbors you might want to warn them as the fire dept. has been known to be called out on such occasions. once you've sucked down the bottle (or half suck, half in the tank to get to the injectors) drive it around town until the smoking stops and you are all done. But I'm not 100% certain I have the right vac line... it's the one just before the throttle body on the tube between the air box and the throttle body, right? Somehow I have a feeling it's the wrong line... heh...

I believe you can pre-select the gear setup... if you're at lower speeds on long hills, drop down a gear to keep the RPM's stable. *shrugs* If I'm going up a real steep hill, instead of just disabling OD, I'll kick down to 2nd - uses a bit more fuel, but it keeps my speed stable (or lets me accelerate if I feel naughty)... then again, some of the hills around here are almost 60 degree grade... meh.

Higher resistance = more heat and more current draw... so yes, that would be normal. If it does that when it's able to turn freely... you have a MAJOR issue on your hands!
-
Eh, good point.

Ghost, thing is - it worked until he hydrolocked it with a ton of TB Cleaner. Didn't work well, but it ran *shrugs*

Simon, what about the blue smoke - a high concentration of coolant / oil could fskc with the combustion, right?
-
Uhm... you hydrolocked the engine mate... pray to whatever patron or matron deity you please that it didn't damage anything, pull the plugs, let it dry a day or two, then try it. A quick rundown of hydrolock: The pistons cannot compress liquids well, namely liquid fuel or water or oil or anything else that seeps into the piston chambers. Fuel that is injected is a very fine mist that vaporizes with incoming air - that is compressed and ignited. Your engine is unable to perform even a compression stroke at the moment and, likely, you've bent piston rods trying to force it to turn. A small bit of liquid is no real problem - it usually will be ejected on the exhaust stroke... but too much and yeah. Hydrolock. Let her dry for a few days... As to the blue smoke and heavy use of fuel... uhm... damn. I can't really think of anything to cause that... Slick or Simon may know... maybe 88 could tell you once you take his advice and un-drown the beast As to the blue smoke... check for oil use? Or maybe Coolant... I can't remember, but I think one of the two turns smoke blue. You may be experiencing a cracked header or cylinder head, which is letting coolant or oil into the combustion chambers. A more knowledgeable forum goer will probably confirm / deny this.

Have it done or DIY! ... Replace Leaky manifolds and broken studs
Kittamaru replied to MadManMike's topic in General Forums
Man, wish someone on these boards lived near PA... lol. I'd love to attempt this on my own.. use my grandfathers driveway as it's large and flat... have the tools, just not the experience *shrugs* -

My pathy is having a slight delay between second and third... like a long shift... always shifts in clean though *shrugs* -
Exhaust Manifold Leak? Might be a good place to start... but damn that sounds nasty.

Hm... I'm really, really thinking of getting a 3" body lift now... it makes everything so much easier it seems XD -

I've been looking at this too.. what's the easiest way to extract broken studs when you don't have a right angle drill? -

High / Low Beam issue - How to troubleshoot ?
Kittamaru replied to prginocx's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
My problem is, I don't see where/how the switch in the dash ties in. I'm decent with electronics, but only the more basic stuff. *shrugs* -
Really? Huh, didn't know that. I know my grandparents have me as their primary benefactor... and my little brother as the secondary. Thing is, though, my mum is the executor of the will

Reason I said believe it was an alarm was because even though it said alarm on it, it could have been a reused toggle switch.

Washer... what... washer... oh fskc, please tell me I'm not missing a piece...

I moved out of my house (where my completely bat@!*% parents (and no, I'm not just being a rebelious teen... they've lost it) kept hounding me for everything) and in with my Fiance! Eg, I'm finally free... for now. Bad part is - when my parents die, their 250,000 some dollars of debt fall to me... yay for parents that can't fskcing handle money!
-
Well that's pretty stupid...
-
Oh? What's the alarm do? I'm tempted to wire in a kill switch to the battery via a relay... have it cut the ground out at the battery terminal. No ground, no current flow

High / Low Beam issue - How to troubleshoot ?
Kittamaru replied to prginocx's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Nice write up Kwiki... but it left me more confused than anything XD I'll have to open up my truck and take a look - my big issue is I know nothing about my wiring harness... not even where these wires originate XD -
If you are at the upper bumpstop you ain't gonna go any further I don't believe... I had to turn mine 5 splines on the drivers side, 4 on the passenger... but they were sagging like an old womans tits! As in, I was riding on the lower stops more often than not! Now, I'm a LITTLE high and it mucked my camber a slight bit... nothing my mate at the garage wasn't able to fix in like, ten minutes once he had her in the shop Freebie alignment FTW!

Heh, we don't plan to get married yet... maybe another year or two depending on how college goes for both of us. Moving out of my house was my only option other than killing both my parents *sweatdrop*

Uhm...don't all pathy's have the "ghetto" LSD? As in, if you loose grip, lightly apply the breaks and all four wheels will start to spin again?
