  1. is that so you'd have somewhere to put this?
  2. i like the styling of those DSM tuner shirts. Maybe throw a Nissan symbol in there somewhere, or on the sleeve. A front shot similar to the third dsm shirt would look sweet. Just take one from an R50 and a WD21 too
  3. there's some se vs. xe stuff in this thread near the bottom: this thread
  4. yeah, i'm pretty sure you need the ones out of a V8 donor truck. Ask anyone who's done the conversion. I'm waiting for my springs right now and I got some from a 95 Jeep Grand (V8) Cherokee.

    Grrrrrrr...

yeah bernard, i've had the same interstate battery since i picked up the truck about 4 years ago. When it's idling, the interior lights will sometimes flicker or not stay at a certain brightess. I should see how much juice the battery is pushing. The water levels are good in it, but I haven't tested the flow.
  6. Be very careful with rust. It's not a desireable thing to have on any potential car regardless of price. If you don't mind the work, you can do this: unneccessary work that manifold might cost big bucks, depending on many things. A test drive would also be in order, but the rust only gets worse and worse depending on your climate, unless you give it a decent amount of time/attention. If there are other choices in your area, I would pass on that one. Here's a spread of 95's in my area for comparison of price: here This one looked really good and still kinda young in terms of milage: here
  7. welcome franco, I found this a really helpful little article too: first time buyer
  8. it could also be the dust guard attached to the back of the caliper. They tend to get bent and rusty. Mine were rubbing against the edge of the rotor making a similar sound.
  9. ooo that tacoma is dead sexy *rubs nipples*

    Grrrrrrr...

yeah, i had to unplug the whole thing to get my old cassette deck out. I swapped it with the one out of my older brother's truck but the bastard never got the stock cd player with his. Just a little tray to put your smokes under the radio

    Grrrrrrr...

hmmm it only began doing this a couple of days ago... maybe i'll put it all back together and just wait and see what happens. Those decks are pretty rare in the scrapyards, as i've only been able to find 2 pathys within an hour's drive from home.. thanks for the help guys

    Grrrrrrr...

I just got the tape deck working in my '95, now the cd player has gone kaput. It still accepts a disc, but it constantly searches for a place to start reading it, until it finally gets fed up and spits it back out. The display remains blank the whole time it's doing this. I shot some compressed air in there to get all the dust out and topped that off with one of those cleaning disc type thingies which the player promptly spit out too. I really want to keep this head unit as I have ALOT of music on both tapes and CD's. I've got the stock unit which has the radio/tape on top and the CD player on the bottom. Anyone have any ideas?
  13. yep, they would have made me pay for mine, but after I looked through the repair history when i bought it, I learned that my truck had a new engine, including manifolds installed on in within 20 000 kms of use. The common leak on the manifolds was acutally the between the flanges on the crosspipe and manifold. The crosspipe had rusted out because of pressure on it due to broken hangars. You might want to check for rust damage underneath your driver's side floorboard. Damaged exhaust hangers will lead the pipe very close to the body underneath your feet, which causes premature rust if you don't repair the hangars!
  14. then leave your old one in there. That's the easiest thing to do. I cant beleive how many people on thsi board seem to be upset over how much power these trucks have. My mom has a 2001 and that thing is a rocket! Dusted many-a-civic around town here. As for my 95, hey IT'S A TRUCK, not a race car. It has enough power to pull my boat, throw up a decent roost in the mud, and scoot across a busy intersection -i'm more than delighted with it. Mind you, i wouldn't argue with a diesel, but we live in North America so tough bananas. If you wan't some more power, go buy an american SUV and have fun fixing it all the time

    Brake Noise

I would keep the shims on. They spread the pressure out over the pads, and prevent the whole mess from sticking together by heat. These brakes automatically adjust themselves to different thicknesses of brakepads.
  16. dude, resize those pics, they are huge 640x480 is good enough
  17. stock. I like being able to listen to my old tapes and new cd's
  18. i dunno, but mine gets the same problems after it warms up. I'm going to install a grounding kit tommorrw and see if that helps it out at all.
  19. yes, what everyone else says get some new shoes! something with bite too.

    Restore

ok, i put about 1/3 of a bottle of lucas in with the fresh oil, and i got about 3 little bottles of old oil out of the engine. I'll have to check next time I change it to see if it burned less.

    Restore

well i have to change the oil today, so i'm gonna try some of the lucas oil stabilizer. I'll let you know if it makes a big difference over a simple oils and filter change

    Rust treatment

yeah that might work, i used that stuff to patch up a hole in my boat last year. Although i'm not sure how to spread it out so it looks nice. That stuff is very goopey.
  24. i like to adjust my passenger light (left side for sw) off to the side a little bit to light up the shoulder of the road. It gives me a little bit better visibility at night when i'm driving down country routes with my eyes peeled for deer
