  1. Aye, got the payout for the repairs! Awesome news! I agree, finding parts for this damned thing is a pain in the ass. It's why the bodyshop couldn't fix mine to begin with. And yeah, I had to get a fuel sender for mine, and it was just on the hoist for a week just for it to arrive.
  2. Nope, no write off; the bodyshop was awesome as they took photos of both the exterior and interior to show the insurance how it was amazing condition, and to help convince them that it was worth fixing, and that it wasn't just some 30 year old pos beater truck. The quote was around $2700ish. The insurance just deposited what the original quote was and said I can go on my own and find a shop that can fix it. I'm praying for you man: I assume it still drives perfectly fine? Honestly it doesn't look too bad: replace the grille, headlight, bumper, and realign the hood and you're laughing. Your truck looks in perfect condition, should be enough to convince them to at least cut you a check.
  3. So sorry, something similar happened to me last year. The bodyshop couldn't find any parts, so the insurance just sent me a cheque for what the bodyshop quoted me for the repairs.
  4. Probably won't get a reply, but in case I do, I'm looking for all the dash switches (Cruise, E-AT, Hazards, Defrost, and Dimmer) for the curvy dash. I'm in Canada; if the price is reasonable I'll pay for shipping from the States too.
  5. Awesome! Thank you for this video. Stupid question, but what exactly are those LEDs called that you used? 10mm?
  6. I got the entry level Pioneer touch screen (DMH-220 EX) in mine. Bought it in 2019 for my 05 Altima, then took it out after that got totaled and put it in the Pathy. I actually don't mind how low it sits, and how it's on a slight angle facing upwards, looks pretty cool tbh
  7. The hood is my main concern. I hope that it can be straightened out; I really don't want a new hood with a new paint job, would look awful unless the whole truck is being repainted.
  8. Oh wow, I forgot all about this topic! Both a good and bad thing, probably more bad lol. It got pushed towards the hood and made a massive dent and misaligned it. Plus it probably did some minor frame damage on the front end, but probably only on the part it bolt to. On the flip side it probably saved the engine bay lol. I hear people call these things damage multipliers, at least the stock ones anyway. Yeah, it's crazy, because I can find a bumper and grille easy online; I honestly think it's the brush guard that gave them trouble, at this point I really don't care if I lose it. That's probably what made up the chunk of the estimate anyways lol I might end up just buying them and going to a body shop and have them fix it up. I'd probably still walk out with a tiny profit from the settlement after all is said and done.
  9. D21 headlight bucket swap? Is this basically swapping in the Hardbody's headlights? Sorry, I barely got my feet wet with the Pathfinder modifications, so bear with me lol
  10. Alright everyone, So yesterday I went under the hood and took out a bulb from the housing, and it was indeed an LED bulb. So I bought a pair of the 9004 incandescent bulbs and hooked them up. So turning on the radio, after flipping on the headlight switch, the radio reception is still clear as day! So there ya have it, LED bulbs for your headlights are a no-no, unless you do some additional work to accommodate them. My headlights are no longer white, but now have that stock yellow tint, but I really don't care tbh For some odd reason, with the Sylvania incandescent bulbs, the twist cap to hold them in the housing was really difficult to get on, especially twisting them on straight. It's like the base of the bulb was too big. Credit where credit is due, my mom wanted to try and she somehow got them to twist on properly :s She proceeded to point out how I have no patience and get upset easily. Aren't moms great? Maybe her smaller hands made it easier. Are these twist retainers always this hard? It's like they aren't deep enough to seal in the stock bulbs; maybe the housing is aftermarket, maybe the twist retainers aren't stock?
  11. Sorry, I was only able to get the head size, which fits a 17mm socket. I can try again tomorrow and take one out if it will help, I just don't have thread pitch gauge to know what the pitch will be, unless there's some other magical way of finding out.
  12. I can try to take a look tomorrow and at least get the size for you. There are 4 mounting points? 2 through the bumper and 2 underneath?
  13. I can attest to this lol. After someone rolled into me after an accident, it pretty much damaged my bumper, hood and grille lol. Still haven't got it fixed yet; my brush guard only suffered damage to one of the centre horizontal bars, but I think the frame mounts themselves are bent to s***. It's both a blessing and a curse; probably stuff behind the grille would've been crushed without it; if and when I get it fixed, I wouldn't care if I lose the brush guard, a stock one is a pain in the ass to find too.
  14. I wouldn't mind tbh. You will have to bear with me as I have to find some free time to undertake this lol As mentioned already, I'd lose the keyless entry, but would I retain the power locks? Like would I still be able to unlock and lock all the doors via keyturn?
  15. Alright, sounds like I got my work cut out for me. One more question: If I lock all my car doors at once the old fashioned way aka via key turn, will that activate the alarm?
  16. Can you tell me more about the light switch in the back latch hatch? The rear light does go out when I close it, so I assume that leaves that out of the equation? I notice the driver's door doesn't trigger the dome light when it opens, could it be that?
  17. Could I just leave the truck unlocked in the meantime? Would I still be able to start it up fine?
  18. So I'll get the "beep beep" whenever I unlock it, but now for some reason when I went to lock my doors, I'll get the error tone instead of the single beep, but will still lock. Afterward the alarm will just go off on its own. I don't know what to do. When I'm sitting inside and I lock it via fob, the doors will lock, but I'll hear something from the dash engaging or trying to do something (like a clicking sound) and then the red security light will start to flash, leading to alarm to just go off until I hit the unlock button on the fob. For now, I just left it unlocked, I have nothing of value in there and our area is pretty safe. I'm still paranoid the alarm will still somehow go off lol What do I do? Can I just get rid of this pos alarm system altogether?
  19. f***, I'm just gonna pull the plug on this project. The automatic transmission shifter alone makes it a pain in the ass to deal with, and there isn't enough info out there on what to do to mount it, along with wiring it up properly.
  20. It was really weird, as he basically pointed out the obvious surface damage. - So the hood is slightly misaligned, and it has a few dents, and it's missing the plastic insert in one of the hood vents - The push bar seems to be fine, except in the middle portion where there are 2 horizontal bars, the bottom one is hanging off on one side. From the looks of it, it seems that the portion of the frame that it mounts to might be what's bent, not the push bar itself, which is why it's sitting like that - The bumper is bent to @!*%. - The passenger headlight still works fine, but it looks like it's slightly popped out - The grill is cracked He looked under the hood and found absolutely nothing wrong. So that push bar was both a blessing and a curse lol. I have a feeling that the push bar is the main reason why they're having trouble. At this point, if I lose the push bar I really don't care, although it is cool. He also took pictures of the interior and the rest of the exterior to show the insurance company that's it's in great shape, and that it's not a pos beater that gets abused on a daily basis to justify why it should not be written off.
  21. Update: So after bringing it to the body shop a few weeks ago, they made a quote and the insurance Ok'd it. Today my insurance called to give me an update, and unfortunately the body shop cannot find any replacement parts due them being obviously discontinued; they tried everything from OEM to aftermarket. However, the insurance will not write it off, and will cut me a cheque for the exact amount the body shop quoted (around $2700 CAD) me for the repairs, and I can take that money and somehow find a way myself to get it fixed. It's a bittersweet, down but not out ending lol. Since I'm not at fault, my insurance probably doesn't care about the amount since the other party is responsible for paying anyways, and they just want to close this claim ASAP
  22. So the crusty old "leather" or vinyl material is pretty much peeling off on one of the spokes, and overall looks terrible. How hard is it to swap out a steering wheel on these, and what are some other models that may be compatible with the Pathfinder? I know the Hardbody is an obvious answer; I assume the '94 Pathfinder doesn't have any airbags, and I believe later Hardbodies are equipped with them. Would it be possible to swap any of those in, regardless of it being equipped with airbags or not?
