Cleaned MAF sensor tripped code
JackFletcher replied to JackFletcher's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Update: I did the relearn process and after a few painful attempts I was able to get it to work. The vehicle has returned to normal RPM and I cleared the codes. Thanks to all for the advice I had never heard of any sort of process of resetting like this! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Cleaned MAF sensor tripped code
JackFletcher replied to JackFletcher's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I appreciate everyone’s responses I am narrowing it down to the throttle body. I removed it and sprayed it with throttle body cleaner and wiped it down. The thing was filthy the previous owner never touched it. I was thinking that maybe the computer is confused by the new amount of air flow entering since I cleaned it. It’s idling pretty bad. I tried the idle speed relearn on YouTube but it didn’t work, is there a specific process you have to do? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Just cleaned my maf sensor and throttle body this morning thought it would be a little thing to do. I didn’t have any problems, I just knew it had never been cleaned before. Just got done and I’ve got a “service engine soon” light on and the truck goes about 15mph without putting my foot on the gas lol. Is this just the computer recalibrating or something else? Anyone know what to do? Update: Tripped code P0507 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Early sign of blown head gasket?

I agree I figured the mechanic just used conventional. I put in some valvoline full synthetic high mileage. 5w-30 -
Early sign of blown head gasket?
JackFletcher replied to JackFletcher's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
This information is great. I am very thankful for all that you wrote. Based on what you said, you have basically described my driving habits. The temperature is in the thirties and i drive 2-3 mile commutes to school early in the morning. I am very grateful for this piece of mind I was getting a little worried. I dont think I will escalate the situation because I think what you first said about the influx of oil being swooshed around and gasoline entering makes since considering my situation. Also seems a bit low mileage for a blown head gasket. I will keep you posted on any new information I gather. Thank you very much sir! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Background: I got my Pathy back in July of 2018 and it had about 103k miles on it. Originally it was leaking oil and i had that repaired by a mechanic I believe it was the oil cooler seals. The mechanic did an oil change then. Yesterday I did my first oil change on the pathy at 106k miles. I didn’t want to mess around because I wasn’t sure what oil he used and I like to stay on my own intervals. So as I was changing the oil I took off the oil cap and I noticed a lot of reddish brown powder on the inside of the oil cap. This concerned me cause I know brown sludge means you’ve got a blown head gasket. I checked the radiator and it’s green and full and the reservoir isn’t low. I cleaned the cap with some brake cleaner and then went on with the change. I didn’t think to take pictures of the cap when it was at its worst before I cleaned it but I went to take some pics today of what had already started to build back up after me cleaning it. The first pic is the cap and the second is the hole you put the oil in for a lack of a better word lol Prior to me cleaning it the cap was almost completely brown on the inside but there was no sludge it was just that brown dust. Let me know what you guys think is going on. I should also note that the truck is running normal. I am just learning about cars as this is my first one so any guidance would be appreciated. I could be just overreacting lmao Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Light bar and "Raptor/4Runner" running lights
JackFletcher replied to 02_Pathy's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I completely agree. The hope is that in the future I will have a steel off-road bumper and it won’t be a problem. For the time being I think the brush guard would not combine well with a bug deflector but that’s just me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

UPDATE: I was finally able to get the billet on to the new grille. After a few coats of plasti dip, drilling and bending metal, it has finally been installed lol. I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to find any color match paint but I might just paint the next sections to the side of the grille and under the lights black so they don’t contrast as much. Overall I’m happy with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Have you ever driven a CVT car? I wonder if you feel any shift or hear rpms. I would never want one of those things. Complete money pits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I havent heard much good about them unfortunately. To my knowledge they are plagued with electrical problems.

Due to some rust issues my tail pipe fell out of my resonator the other day. I’m referring to the rear part of my exhaust. Basically from the axle back I need a new exhaust. What do you guys recommend? I want to upgrade from stock but I also don’t want to wake up the neighbors lol. Let me know of some of the configurations y’all liked. The rest of my exhaust is in good shape the cat and the middle muffler don’t have issues. Thank you forgive my lack of knowledge Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Update: I was checking their website today and I was pleased to notice that they have added an option for 00-04 Post Facelift R50. Nice to know they are now available for the newer models in case anyone was interested. This is probably my favorite bumper I have seen for the Pathy due to its pricing and overall look. When the money is there I will probably grab this one.

Ok I appreciate it. I saw a video on YouTube where the shape of the mounts looked slightly different but I agree with you. Might as well give it a shot and order it. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Does anybody know if a Mesh SE grille like the one 02_Pathfy put on fit on a 2004 LE? I’m sick of my stock LE grille so I ordered a billet insert and to my dismay I found out that After 2002 Nissan started molding the insert to the frame of the grille instead of bolting it on which makes it impossible for me to install the billet insert. My plan was then to just order a 2001 SE grille and then bolt on my billet insert, but now I am skeptical that Nissan has changed some other dumb thing that will make it impossible for me to fit it in. Have any of you tried putting a older grille in a 03-04? Will it fit? Lmk if this doesn’t make any sense lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thanks to all I didn’t think about the heat method. I was planning on using the flex seal family of products to seal the holes lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

within the past 3 months of me having taillights guards I have just started to notice that water must be getting in through these two small holes that are supposedly sealed off but obviously not. The holes have began to drip rust onto my rear bumper. My plan is to seal them myself but first I need to find away to get the water out. Do you guys know any tricks to dry up the water inside? I was thinking putting sea salt down the small holes but then I remembered that can be a cause of rust. I think? Please let me know any suggestions thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I’m a bit overwhelmed here. I see all of these options like spacers, lift springs, struts and the sfd. What would you guys do if you were in my position? I’m looking to fit 32s or 33s. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Very interesting. I have been in the process of deciding which form of lift I am gonna do and I haven’t considered this one until now. Due to the fact that I am only interested in a 2-3 in lift would you still recommend the sfd? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
