  1. They have done very well so far. Most of my mileage is on streets...varying from some highway, in town and back country roads. They perform well on all surfaces. A little tire hum but nothing excessive. They out performed my expectations in the snow. I tried to make this thing slide on blacktop with 2" of wet snow and it acted like the snow was sticky! Deeper snow wasn't an issue either. I'm guessing that doesn't concern you being in Jax though. With my rig being 2WD I don't push the limits much when it comes to off-road. Mostly trail and camp roads. That said traction isn't a problem. The treads clean out well and don't tend to pack unless you get into clay( careful around Middleburg). I don't have any up here so no idea how they'll handle the sugar sand. I didn't have these tires when I lived out at Jax Beach.
  2. New wheels and tire carrier. No more wheel spacers!
  3. UPDATE After fighting with a persistent wheel bearing issue I decided to eliminate the wheel spacers to reduce stress on the front geometry. Went with the Vision HD 84 D Window wheels. 16x8 4.00 backspace works perfectly with the 265/75R16 Falken tires. Good stance, all the clearance and no rub! I opted to get a 5th rim and tire to have a spare that matches the rest...which lead to a need to get a new spare location. Introduce the Rola and a ratchet strap. The rack and tire mounts are both temporary. this weekend I'm gonna low-pro mount the rack and try to fab a solid tire mount(can't see spending $100 for a prefabed mount).
  4. Thanks for the confirmation! I agree about the stance width. That's partially why I'm replacing the wheels...the current track width is causing some rub in the rear of the wheel well. Wheels got delivered already today. Hopefully I can get them mounted up this weekend. Pics pending...
  5. HI FOLKS Let me start by apologizing for potentially beating a dead horse. I've tried searching for days and can't seem to find a definitive measurement on backspacing for factory 16" "5 star" style wheels. I am currently running Falken Wildpeak 265/75/16's with 1.5" wheel spacers. I am looking to buy the Vision HD 84 series wheels in 16x8. They have a 4" backspacing. I just need to verify the 4" backspacing will accommodate enough clearance for the strut tower without using spacers. I see a ton of recomendations for 3.75" backspacing working well for similar set-ups, not sure if the .25" difference would cause any issues. Any advice or experiences are much appreciated! 6. That tire should clear the strut. Might be close but it should be fine. Like previously stated you're probably encountering rub on the inner fender. If that is the case the spacers will most likely make the rub worse.you can easily move the mounting screws forward on your bumper cover to gain a lot of clearance. If still needed a heat gun works wonders. I would think that should be enough to solve your dilemma. If not you might need to send Fleury some $ and get some lift spacers.
  7. It makes sense the more I think about it. Just didn't seem right initially.
  8. I'll start by apologizing up front. I'm sure this has been covered but I can't for the life of me find any torque specs for the front spindle nut. I'm doing wheel bearings on my 2000 2wd. FSM I downloaded tells me to torque to 78ft. Lbs. Then back off to 0. Then re-torque to 13 INCH lbs. This does not sound right to me. Any help would be fantastic!
