  1. I was doing maintenance checks and planning little repairs like new mirrors, bumper, detailing, and all that jazz.  Prom is coming around the corner and I had a really cool idea planned out to propose involving my car, but unfortunately my girlfriend broke up with me today - so it's just a fantasy now
    Sorry to hear man

  2. It’s weird because everything works fine, I went up on some slippery rocks I knew I would slide on and the front wheels were spinning so everything is working
When was the last time you checked your fluid level in the T case? That might have to do something with the light blinking. I would check that and put some fluid in the fill hole till it comes out. It could be low

  3. When I put my truck into 4wd the orange 4wd light starts blinking. I have manual hubs and don’t remember that happening before installing. It only started today and hasn’t done it and I’ve had manual hubs on since December and used 4wd a lot since, any ideas or what’s going on?

I know on some rigs the 4wd light will be on if you're driving around in 2wd with the hubs unlocked, it's just the computer sensing something wrong because the front end isn't rotating. But since it's on in 4wd it might be a little different. Did you make sure that the hubs are fully locked when switching to 4wd? They might've not fully engaged when you switched to 4wd perhaps, just my perspective on how I see it but maybe someone has the answer.

  4. Gotcha, do you know if most people run these without the bushing on the bottom? It seems to me like it would lead to premature wear of the rubber bushing, but I also have zero experience installing suspension of any kind
I see some people do and some dont, probably be best if you had one on the bottom. I've had mine on for about 2 to 3 years on lots of trails and miles and I haven't any issues.

  5. Sorry for yet another question, this setup is exactly what I'm planning on doing shortly. I just got my Bilstein shocks the other day, did yours come with the correct sleeve inserts for the lower bushings? or did you just put the bushing straight onto the shock mount with no metal insert? And are you planning on extending your brake lines?

Not a problem man, the bilstein's i got didnt come with sleeves, I went to the hardware store and got a sleeve that fit perfectly for the top bushing I just had to cut it down ever so slightly then for the bottom one I just put it on at the time with no bushing as mine fit the stud perfectly. I didn't have the right tools at the time to make the bushing bigger and put in a sleeve for the bottom. So I just have a steel bushing for the top and none at the bottom currently. Also I did extend my brake lines with SS braided lines that are 2 inches longer front and rear.

  6. Had a fun quick snow trip up in the mountains with my buddies. Aired down to 15psi and finally was able to test the new coils by flexing on a mound. They worked great, with the additional lift in the rear I dont hit my rear fender flares anymore so that's a plus. Downside is that I'll need longer shocks as I did pick up the wheel off the ground but was expected.d65d1014da1b6c6dded30f4c2fc065e0.jpg19e45480122b1d2a7a5e096f3ca5deb5.jpga0b32be93ef726249d9380b25ad8418e.jpgb68c3100a881ddeb90d981c64a5e9649.jpgfb0796db49f89c25f9adf799ba639307.jpgb6c527e9552361f98734683121b26cd2.jpgc558c77e1cede8db0ae73923a3aefcd7.jpg

  7. I’d love to hear what you think about the difference in ride quality from the OME MD!

So after a quick test drive last night over various roads and a really rutty and bumpy road the springs feel a lot better than the OME's in terms of ride quality. Yes they are stiffer but not spine compressing and they handle the ruts really well. I felt that my OME's even though they were old and had lots of miles they felt like they "floated" over ruts and bumps. The new springs feel like they keep the axle on the ground at all times. Also I noticed that my body roll was a lot less too. Next step is to go up in the hills and test the flex capability of the springs and to see if I need to reinstall my bumpstops.

  8. Alright installed the LR 9449's on the rig.
    Tires: 265/70r17
Suspension (before): OME MD coils with 1 inch spacer
*also I have trimmed my fender flares about half an inch so take that into account
Before measurements rear: both sides at 36.5 inches
After measurements rear: both sides 38.25 inches
1.75 inch difference with fresh install
I'll post before and after pics of the truck tomorrow but here's a comparison of the LR 9449 coils and OME MD coils with just the coil, 1 inch spacer and 2 inch spacer.18ba92d67411509cbf54629ff6e2feb2.jpg1facf2b593185ac1646b2c76159036f2.jpgfd37cf38ed48424ae4ef548d71a6375a.jpg

  9. Alright so the LR 9449's were a success.

    Tires are 265/70r17

Before measurements were 36.5 inches from ground to fender with OME MD coils and 1 inch spacer (I did trim my fender flares about half an inch so I'll take that into account)

After measurements are 38.25 inches from ground to fender with LR 9449's so a difference of 1.75 inches. Also too these are freshly installed with no break in as well as I don't have my spare tire on underneath the vehicle.

So approximately for people with stock flares it would be 36 before and 37.75 after. I'll post what the rig looks like tomorrow when I have day light.ea71267014d1daa434302fbc6d799a9e.jpg0afc77d31db5aa4bac650df6e75cb50f.jpg32d48ccd569ab5d31ac8f8379d172a6d.jpgea72dff91a509178b30957bcfd6fd4a8.jpg

  10. Im assuming you’re going to install them and not add any spacers?
Yeah that's the plan, if I add the 1 inch spacers then I would definitely need to drop my PH bar down with a bracket. I'm just adding these coils for a 2 week long road trip I'm taking and need the extra load capacity so I don't sag with all the gear in the back
