  2. My Pathy will hit 150K on the original engine and tranny sometime on my home from work tomorrow!

Since shes so good to me and deserving I will give her a much deserved tranny cooler Saturday afternoon followed by a nice bath!

  3. Have you ran your codes????

Could be O2, MAF, TPS, EGR... Codes please... Pinned Sticky in the "How To" Section...

Mine did this awhile back, although not to this extreme, it would wander back and forth from 600 to 1200, warm or cold.

I replaced the Engine Temperature Sensor and it all went away.

But Casey is right, run your codes it might tell you.

  6. my pathfinder is my daily driver and I want to rebuild the rear axle because the rear seals are leaking so I plan to get another one from a salvage yard hopefully with rear disc brakes. I also want to do a disc brake conversion. I know that disc brakes were optional.

My question is will the axle with rear disc brakes bolt up in place of the drum brake axle or will I have to do suspension modification? my axle is an H233B

My next question is will I have to do any modification the the ABS system to acomidate the new setup

    My pathfinder is a 93 4X4 XE

Has anyone else done this swap?

    1) All WD-21 Pathys with ABS have rear ABS only.

    2) The ABS sensor is located between the differential housing and the imput shaft. It detects changes in the rate of rotation of the rear shaft when braking, and triggers the ABS actuator to dump brake fluid if it detects a potential wheel lock.

    3) The ABS sensor and actuator is the same on all WD21 models regardless of if it has rear disks or drums.

  7. Both of my brake lights on my 87 are out. I checked the fuse and its still good - any other place to check? My next thought is to the switch on the brake pedal, but want to see if there are other things to look for. Thanks!

If you have tail lights and if the fuse is all good my bet would be the brake light switch!

  8. Finally got around to diagnosing the 87 to see what the SES light is all about...I got code 13 which is engine coolant temp circuit (which I removed not thinking it would negatively impact anything and installed an aftermarket gage...dumb me)

my question is for the self diagnoses does it start with the lowest code and go up from that...i know I have more than just the coolant circuit thats bad but it only flashes the 13 so I didnt know if it flashed all codes or shows the 1 it experiences 1st or what...

the truck runs like ass and im almost 100% sure its not the engine coolant temp causing that (unless its making the ECM go crazy)...I'm going to start with this and see if that corrects it if not I guess i'll scan for more codes...the fsm doesnt really go into detail on multiple codes in the self diag setting

First off, were you in Diagnostic Mode III?

the ECU will flash the error codes stored in memory with a short 3 second (or so) pause between each code. Each code starts with a green light so you know when you are seeing green it is the start of a code. It will continue to flash the error codes stored until you turn the vehicle back off at which time it clears all the error codes and goes back into Mode I.

If you have any other problems they probably will not show up till you get the vehicle running again fully because you have cleared the memory.

I also believe the ECU needs the temp sensor.....for proper running.

And if you do not have an O2 sensor your Pathy's engine could simply stall out when it gets warmed up and the ECU goes to check the O2 sensor for a reading of 1 volt, doesnt find it and freaks out.

  9. 92 Pathfinder. Has the climate control panel. When the blower motor is on full blast (setting 3) or Auto (on a hot day, that is setting 3), it seems the motor sounds like its working just fine. The airflow out of the vents seems weak, though. Doesn't sound like the motor is bad, just loud for the amount of air its pushing. Makes it take a long time to cool down, and with temperatures out here over 100F every day during the summer it's not enough. Any obvious suggestions or things to check? By the way, no real change whether its on recirculate or fresh air.

    Thanks, Chris

My bet would be that you need to read the following thread:

    http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...blower+resistor

  10. Don't know if it's cool.... never really used it. I mean, I did look at it from time to time, but just out of curiosity.

It really is standard for all Terranos. Order it from Japan  I bet shipping costs will be exorbitant :D

Does it mount on top of the dash?

Looks like the dash is different from what we got in the US and that it is intrigrated in the dash.

  11. These are some camera phone pics I took of the new Nissan Rogue. It isn't for sale for at least a few months. This came from corparate, we were just washing it so they could show it off. It is bascially a smaller crossover suv with the 2.5L engine:2cute:

It is not an SUV. It is a minivan just like most so-called 'SUV's are today.

A true SUV is on a truck frame and is classified by the DOV as a utility vehicle, not a passanger vehicle.

  12. Nothing too major, the column cover is held together by 4 main screws and then 2 on the sides by the openings for the wiper and the turn signal arms. all 6 go from the bottom up. Then 2 screws hold the switch to the column.

Yeah piece of cake, no worries. All you nee it a 6" or longer philips head and you are good to go!

  13. yeah, the pump is probably the top suspect but i'd check and see if you have pressure in the lines, first.

The fuel system needs pressure. If you just recently replaced the fuel filter, are both the in and out fuel lines good and snug?

I would suspect if it started this right after changing the fuel filter that it might be an issue with something you did, perhaps without knowing.

If it has been sitting up a long time it could be a clogged fuel line possibly, just another thought.

Might also check the air filer and the air intake for something starving it for air.

If it has been sitting up, some small critter might have nested in there. (happened to me once!)

  14. i just bought a hand held cb from radioshack, im in a house right now and its not picking anything up, is this normal? this is a very populated area btw.

First off, what channel are you on? Channel 19 is the most popular used channel.

Secondly, many truckers turn off their radios or at least turn the squelch way up when they are in urban cities because the cris-crossing highways make things confusing (for example here in Dallas, I-45, I-20, I-30 and I-35 all cross near each other within 2-5 miles of each other.) Multiple drivers going east-west or north-south within earshot of each other makes things very, very confusing, not to metion all the talking at once makes the radio traffic turn into unitelligable mish-mash babble.

On the other hand wait for a major accident to shut the highway down and you will get lots of radio traffic from pissed off truckers trying to find out what the deal is.

Also, in large ubran areas, esp where there are high buildings the radio signals tend to bounce off the buildings creating distortion and reverbiration, another reason truckers tend to turn them off.

Thirdly, are you near a major highway? They dont use them much off the highways since they figure no one is around.

And as pointed out, your small antenna has a limited range compared to a fullisize anntenna.

Lastly, weather conditions, rain and lighting daylight (better at night) and to some degree sunspot activity will effect the radio.

When ytour radio (or anothers) is moving you also have the doppler effect with the transmiiting and recieving range.
