  1. ok, so today I tackled the fan clutch it was pretty straight forward... but... first off the clutch was different from the original, it had open slots instead of plain ol bolt holes for the part that goes onto the fan mount wheel, and it was a bit thicker, it came with longer bolts but I opted just to use the old ones, I tightened them enough just so I could see the threads...the fan shroud was a bugger cause it was a bit tricky to get it all out to replace it..but all in all it took a stubby phillips screwdriver for the shroud, a 10mm wrench, 10mm socket and a flat head screwdriver to get the fan blade off the semi corroded clutch, the old one was seized and did not spin at all.... shes all good now though....thanks guys
  2. so I put the 5-w30 in today but left the other filter in rather than putting in the fram, I just put it in like 2 weeks ago so it should be good
  3. lol, I think I can handle it ...hahahaha.. Thanks Guys
  4. I haven't put the filter in just yet but I went to pick up my new plugs today and he ordered me the v-groove instead of copper ... I have double platnums in it right now and they are working great to my knowledge so I opted to just leave those alone... so Fram Filter is garbage?
  5. well, I am doing my 3rd change in two months so She's gonna be clean now...lol... I went ahead and bought Moble 1 5w-30 Synthetic and a fram filter... I also ordered in some NGK copper v groove plugs... the platinum ones seem to be working fine but Im a sucker for staying on track with specks so I'm going to make the changeover tomorrow, I'll let you know If there is any noticeable difference
  6. I guess it's not top priority just yet... I'm gonna focus on getting er ready for winter
  7. Percise1 yes the frame was shot on the passenger rear so I arc welded a piece I fabricated from steel channel... I made the dog legs from old stove pipe...I couldn't find anything at my local part store... 8 months later I'm still dealing with body work...lol... You got to be creative in the sticks my friend...

Probably won't hurt to just replace it and the necessary components. Good piece of mind as snapping a belt will hurt bad.

  9. Owes she goin' bye? I'm getting a constant running fan while I'm driving and So I was told it was me fan clutch so I went to the CARQUEST Auto part store here in Nova Scotia and got me one for about a $100 Bucks and change, so....No I gots to put it in.... Im only 8 months old with this Nissan and haven't had to do much to the motor besides change the starter and plugs ... Whats the best way to tackle this job? Anyone out there done this before? I need help!
  10. I'm told I should replace the water pump and timing belt while I'm at it...?
  11. I wish I could diagnose it and find the issue....
  12. your right "BendRed" I've seen some of the kit's for $1,000
  13. When Im driving I cant rely on my rpm because its at zero then it will work then stop then sometimes it's maxed out at idle, my speedo jumps sometimes then will not read, then comes back, Is this a common issue? what could it be?
  14. Is that a big job? do I need to take out the rad and fan? ETC?
  15. When I'm driving it sounds like my fan is constantly running but it's loud and makes my Pathy sound like a dinosaur!! Rawwwwww!!! It only used to do this typically only after first starting it up, sometimes it would run a bit longer on the cold mornings but it always used to settle down after 30seconds or so but now it's on ALL THE TIME! Can anyone tell me what I have to do to fix this? Thanks...
  16. ok, well I have no oil leakage at all which I love about it, I changed my plugs for some Platinum ones, Changed the Oil to Synthetic, Sea foam through the master Cylinder, Lucas Cool Radiator additive and that brought me from 18Mpg up to about 20Mpg so I thought it was worth it, It gets cold and I don't want to go too thick, I've had some sluggish issues with other vehicles with 10-W30 in the deep cold Nova Scotia Winter so I'm a believer of 5-w20
  17. Ok, awesome, one more thing "If I'm putting new gear oil in should I flush out the rear with Diesel before putting in the new oil? I heard this from a back yard mechanic, Any ideas as to if that's true or if it will work out?
  18. My rear end is leaking from the fill plug and I'm wondering what the deal is.....I went to NAPA and asked for some LSD OIL and they looked at me like I had 2 heads, what is the problem and where do I find the gear oil Nissan calls LSD?
  19. I bought the rig 8 months ago and it came with fresh oil, when I was tuning to get better fuel Mileage I switched to Synthetic 5W-20 I am wondering if I should go back to conventional oil for fear of damage...Any Ideas or suggestions.
  20. my tach and speedo will work sometimes and other times they wont? I wonder whats up
  21. Yeah I am having the same issue, I've noticed the 8 moths I've had her that in the morning it would make a sound which I can only describe as a T-Rex Howl, lol, sounds like a large fan, when I push the clutch in it stops most of the time when I'm driving I' going to inspect the fan clutch? Also how big of a job is it to replace the timing belt? Thanks
