You should mount the cooler to the front of the radiator so you are getting fresh air to it as you drive. Fan speed alone will not be sufficient, just my two cents worth.
-
Is it out of 4wd drive mode though? Try putting it in N then move the 4wd stick to 2L that should get it out of 4wd then put trans into D.
-
Welcome to the forum! First things I'd be fixing would be new side mirror, new right hand front fender.
-
Wow that's a weird one, so it's in P and you've definitely disengaged 4wd mode? Because I know if mine isn't properly disengaged the gear won't shift into D.
-
Yeah mine is the turbo diesel 2.7 (td27)
-
Yeah they only start in either P or N

This video may help. It shows how to take the panel off and also explains that if you don't push in the plug side when reinstalling (where the air con button is) it won't light up and activate when you press the a/c button.

Those fuel cleaner in a bottle jobs are just wasting your money, you are better off putting methylated spirits in the tank to get rid of water.

Don't drive it anywhere, get it towed immediately to a trans shop for diagnosis. My trans did exactly the same thing, except I was in the worse place you could be when a trans goes, on the freeway. I could only get 2nd gear and crawled at 50 km/h and I went straight to the transmission shop. $2,500 later I had a recon trans. The mechanic showed me what had happened to the old trans. It looked like Mechatron and Bumblebee had a fight inside, there was metal fragments everywhere. Totally destroyed. I'd never seen anything like it.

Hmm ok. Maybe it's the resistor then. What happens from what I've been told is that the current is actually less when the fan is set to 1 or 4. Leaving the fan set to 2 or 3 can wear the resistor out if you leave the fan on for long periods of time. I remember reading that the resistor can heat up if left in position 2 or 3 for a long time.

It must be the blower motor so you'll need a 2nd hand one from a wreckers

Oh and one more thing, look at your rear window for oily residue, fuel splatter marks. When the fuel pump leaks, somehow I don't know why, the fuel that drips can end up on the rear window. This is exactly what happened to mine so that's another thing to look for.

How long does it take for the glow plug light to go out? It should be something like 5 - 7 seconds when cold, 1 - 2 seconds after warm up. To me the problem sounds fuel pump related, not fuel filter related. Try draining the fuel pump, there should be a plastic valve underneath the pump that you can turn, it has a small hose attached to it. Put a little container like a coke bottle under it and drain the fuel pump. Then investigate what comes out. There might be dirt or water in the fuel. After draining, actuate the primer again.

I have the exact same Terrano as you mate, everything is in Japanese so the only way you are going to find the fuse is pull each one out and check it. Either that or buy a book on how to speak Japanese lol

Banned for having Easter bunny ears, when it ain't Easter yall

Maybe try cleaning out the hole where the resistor goes into the plastic housing. I know leaves and things can get stuck in there. Maybe it's clogged up so much the blower motor is stressed out.

Banned for having pictures of zombies because that's so 2012 lol

It reminds me of a creepy movie...Child's Play!

I second that comment, fill up the tank again and add methylated spirits to absorb the water. It will come good eventually. I remember once an idiot friend of mine put two stroke oil in my fuel tank. Every once in a while, big clouds of smoke came out, which was embarrassing. Then one day I was on the freeway and I had big clouds of smoke coming out then it just stopped, because the two stroke oil finally went through the fuel line for the last time. Then after that it didn't smoke anymore. I got my friend back by putting raspberry jelly into his vents in front of his hood, so that when he went for a drive, his car smelt like Little miss strawberry cheescake. It took him a few months to get rid of that sickly smell!

For the dash removal look up on youtube "Nissan Terrano led dashboard upgrade" it can be removed with a screwdriver and is quite easy to pry off the panels. Just follow the instructions on the video and you'll find it very easy to do. The main thing is you have to take the ignition cover off otherwise it's impossible to get the speedometer out. If you need to remove the speedometer there is three connectors you just squeeze the connector and pull out.

I just leave mine like it id, at least the wife can get in without having to wait for me to unlock the door, that would be a pain.

This just goes to show that proper preparation of the work surface must be done before installing such a big item. It's like having a wooden floor surface and just applying the lacquer over all the saw dust. Sure it's sealed, but will look like crap.
-
Use methylated spirits it will absorb the water. Put that in the tank.

Add some atf to the tank, cleans the carbon out of the fuel injectors too. Just 100 ml though, you won't need much. Also try changing your fuel filter or draining the fuel pump. There should be a plastic screw underneath it which you can turn to drain the water out.

Also try depressing the accelerator pedal and see if you hear a click sound. That's the sound that tells you the trans should kick down a gear. You can test this without the engine running.
