Nice! I was expecting a beatup looking Pathy.That thing looks great.Love the rock crawlers.Thats what I am planning to get in the near future.

I took mine off when i first bought my Pathfinder because I didnt really like the look.I put the spare on the roof.I almost sold the carrier.But my wife said you better not you might change your mind.Damn! I hate it when they are right.Too much drag with it on the roof.I put it back on and the truck rides better.Plus I noticed it had a pin to hold it open and out of the way.

Btw, Im curious,I keep hearing that the swing out carriers are rare on the R50's.But on all the 96-98's I see around here most of them have them.

I've got a 31" on my stock swing out carrier with no problems.But I dont know how much heavier a 33" is. I dont have any flexing on mine.I checked it when I bought it and it had the 31" tire on it.I was a little nervous about it.

I love plasti dip! Did the bumpers,wheels and plastic trim on my Dodge Ram.Did the wheels,bumpers,grill,and hood on my pathy.Its held up great for 2+ years now.Cleans easily and looks great.Now Im sure it wouldn't hold up to serious off roading/rock crawling but I dont do that.The best part is if you change your mind you can peel it off.I've been considering painting my whole pathy with it.I agree, the guys at dipyourcar.com are great.Never been there but talked to them on the phone.Losts of great info on their website too.

Btw, the bolts you need for the balancer puller are not 10mm.They are 6mmx1.00.I had to buy some.the puller I rented didn't have the right size.

I just did mine about 2 weeks ago.There is a great writeup on this site for changing the timining belt on the VG33.It also has specs for counting the teeth between the right and left cam sprocket and the left cam sprocket and crank.Don't just use the punch marks as a guide.They are not very acurate.Mine were about 3 teeth of.And if you have everything lined up right your crank should be at 5 O'clock. Buy an electric impact.Thats what I did.$86 at Orielly's.Worked great.I had to turn my cam sprockets manually cause they were off.I didn't have any problems.My truck runs awesome now. Sorry I can't help you with the heads.

When I bought my 96 Pathfinder it didn't come with a keyless remote.The po said he lost it. I want to replace it.But from what I've seen there are two different remotes. the Kobuta3t, and the Kobuta2t.How would I know which one works on my Pathfinder. My 2nd question.My Pathfinder also only came with one key.I tried to have a copy made and was told by several places including a locksmith that mine was too worn to make a copy. I was told by the locksmith that if I take a the lock out of one of the doors there is a number on it that they can use to make keys.I just wanted to see if anyone has heard of that before I take my door apart.Thanks in advance for any info you can give me on these two questions. I tried searching the forums with no luck.

I did a bunch of work on my pathfinder this week.I happened to notice my MIL isnt working.Can anyone tell me where it is located in the guage cluster.I'm gonna check the bulb.

Well not today but over the past week,Timing belt kit,water pump,cam seals,plugs,wires,dist cap and rotor.All new hoses and belts.Cleaned the MAF and throttle body.The timing belt write up that 5523 Pathfinder did was a great help.Next will be the valve cover gaskets.

I posted this in the R50 forum and was trold I should try here. I did the timing belt/water pump replacement on my 96 pathfinder. i feel like an idiot but I can't figure out how to put the belt tensioners back on.Could someone tell me where/how they go.Im desperate.I think the ac bracket goes in the 2 holes by the ac compresser but the alternator I can figure out.It just doesnt seem right no matter how i try. Also I lost a bolt for the power steering bracket.The one near the oil pump.does anyone know what size that bolt is. Thanks.

I hope someone can help me.I feel like an idiot.Just did the timing belt,waterpump,cam seals,all new hoses and belts etc.Im down to putting the belt tensioner brackets back on and can for the life of me figure out where they go.I have been out there for hours I havwe been looking and looking online for hours at pictures and cant figure out how they mount.I feel like an idiot.Can anyone help me.I know which one goes to which side but cant get any further.
