Fixed my rattling tire carrier with a piece of cardboard screwed under the tab that the tire carrier sits on that's on the bumper... raised it about 2mm or so and now its quiet! woot

As soon as I put Royal Purple 10w30 in, it makes a terrible racket when its starting up cold.... but then goes away. Should I go back to regular oil? I've never had any issues like that with RP....

https://fbf.webshopmanager.net/i-18981187-spacbtrailbush95pf.html Answered my own question... I 'spose I should replace the rear bushings...are there any others beyond this? Thanks
-
Cool are there bushings on each end of the trailing arm? (2 bushings per side?)
-
Which rear bushings? Pan arm?
-
So what was the solution you guys found?
-
So I guess I'd just loop the strap thru the shackle and .......? the ends of the straps are closed loops of course as well as the d shackles that are not removable...
-
What do you hook those up to? pics!
-
Trying to figure out how I'd attach a snatch strap to the front bull bar... the D shackles are not removable so I guess I'd have to do something like this? Or should I buy some more D shackles? For mounting the lights I guess I'll get them mounted under the middle bar...
-
The clear parts of the lights line up but I'd have to drill holes in the bumper for the mounting bracket either way unless I mount them to the middle bar hanging down.... and yea I need a recovery kit! haha it never ends does it? lol
-
yea its very frustrating... I've replaced every rubber part in the suspension with very nice components... I might swap to my old wheels and tires to see if it still does it...
-
The hook isn't big enough to fit around the shackles unfortunately... and these are the lights I got: http://www.rigidindustries.com/led-lighting/20211 Sucks that they only come with one bracket. And the optional brackets are half the price of the lights themselves! Haha not that skinny! 6'4" 200 lbs ... the pic makes it look tighter than it is.... the "perks" of living in LA.

I think the squeaking is coming from the top of the hood where it meets the 2 vents... i sprayed the crap out if the area with some silicone lube and its gone for now.. we'll see if that fixed it. I put the stays as far out as they can go but the hood still shakes from side to side.. Still need to get the tires re-balanced.
-
Got the winch mounted up. I just need to wire up the controller now and lights... cant decide on where to mount the dually LED lights?
-
yea the stand offs are at the highest setting... I really wish I could find out what is squeaking! Anyone have any ideas on how to insulate the hood latch and the U shaped bracket? Trying to come up with ideas. Greasing / WD40 doesn't seem to last very long...
-
BFG KM2's 31x10.5x15... nothing too crazy. I guess it couldn't hurt to get them re-balanced... Any ideas on how to get the hood from squeaking like crazy? Is there supposed to be a plastic or rubber part that covers the U shaped bracket that is on the hood?
-
So what ended up being the problem? Mine is shaking like crazy at about 65-70 mph... I have replaced all bushings under the front end that I can think of... UCA's, sway bar bushings, all toe links, ball joints and strut rod bushings, idler arm... what else is there? The thing that is driving me nuts is the hood is shaking making this awful metal on metal screeching sound.... put some grease on the latch and it helps for about a day but then it comes back... If I drive slower or faster than 65 then its smooth sailing... HELP! Going to try and get the tires rebalanced to see if that helps....
-
I dont think its much as it can run on the 12v cig lighter in the car and it has battery protection to shut off before it drains the battery...
-
Thanks man! Cant wait to load'er up for this weekend... Just need to find a cart so I can wheel it on to the beach!
-
Great info guys! I'll have to start building a VG34 and get Nefarious to help me lol.... jk In other news ,my 37 qt frig showed up... works great by the couch to keep beers cold haha
-
Awesome! I want to do this mod... how long did it take to get everything put together? Wondering if it's worth the cost for parts + labor since I dont have my own shop to swap the motors out....
-
subscribed! Looks great! What area you located in? SoCal I hope? I may try to tackle this once my other car gets out of the shop...
-
Yea I may just get another MAF and bore it out then use my good one come testing time heh
-
Anyone have any experience with this intake? I talked to JWT and they said its not really worth it to upgrade the MAF with programming the ECU unless I was doing a full engine build...
-
https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/air-intake-upgrade-p-5.html I bought this one - not really sure what it looks like but hoping it's good...
