well i own a 1995 xe and believe it or not i jacked up rear end and spun wheel they both turned so thats a big yes I have a limited slip differential,Then the crappy 2 ton floor jack I was useing bent under the weight. I know two tons is 2000lbs and the pathy is at least 3500lbs. but all i had at the time and i had to know.no harm no foul and i know better than to be underneath a vehicle with out jack stands.

Well, here's the latest on my little problem. Quick update got a code 51 checked fuel injectors ohm's all at 12 except for number FIVE cylinder it read at 35 ohm's checked wiring harness to injector's all good then took out passenger seat and checked ecu circuts to injectors all read good continuity .checked fusible links everything seem's to be pointing at a bad injector #5 CYL. It's gotta be on the way out.I took a mirror and flashlight and the color on the back of injector is blue.So I will be replacing with same color as I have heard that it makes a big difference.Going to check local junk yard first as I am not made of money. They have one 1992 pathfinder so I am hopeing no one's got to the injectors yet and that they are blue coded. Can you believe that 3 junk yards in area and only one pathy and a couple of nissan trucks.Big shout out to all who joined in on this topic got a lot of positive feed back and excelent ideas.on what to do.precise1 thanks again wow 3 pathfinders I am impressed.I may pick up another just for the extra part's HA,HA!!

i AGREE WITH JPAWELA YOU CAN LIGHTEN THE LOAD BY REMOVING JUNK OUT OF THE BACK THEY SAY LESS WEIGHT SAVES GAS OR LIKE ME I HAVE A SECOND CAR I DRIVE WHEN IN GAS SAVING MODE.Only drive pathfinder when you dont care how much fuel you are useing. It isn't built for gas economy.

Can I ask where you got the metro moulding LP-100Z ? I have the same issues on my 95 pathy.

I have done the toyota thing and even though my nissan has some issues I would'nt trade back for anything. -
believe it or not I carry a flare gun I picked up at a boating store. Just in case i have to signal from a long way off the beaten path.Along with the nessasary survival gear sleeping bag, food, water matches toilet paper unless you like using leaves ha ha thats a joke.Anyway you get the point.better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it.KEEP ON TRUCKING.signed jack

Yes I have a feeling injectors on the way out diagonstic code#51 spark plugs look fine.Hey what did those injectors cost you for 6 ? Also, Santa ROSA HUH,I am born and raised in bay area S.F. Lived in slowvato in marin county for a while used to go up to santa rosa city weekly and to santa rosa airport for my job.now living in IOWA midwest is a little slower paced.Just watching the corn grow HA HA.Thanks again for your help.will keep posted on situtation.over and out.

I tested it at the injector connector will pull passenger seat next and check at computer.I still have a code #51 will keep everyone posted.thanks again.
-
yes I think you may be right. On the injector in question it's still clicking like it's working the pathy isn't running on 5 cylinders.Could it be in fail safe mode? AS you can tell I am quite new to all this. Thanks I plan to remove passenger seat tomorrow and check wiring from E C U to the injector in question. Will keep everyone posted.
-
Thanks my1path I did carefully sand terminals and remeasure again still getting 35 ohms instead of the normal 12 ohms like all the other fuel injectors.I checked all injectors to be sure they are all clicking and they are even the 35 ohm one.I am truly stumped on this one still getting a code #51.
-
Yes I did put a screwdriver to injector and it is clicking. so I guess its working could the fail safe mode be on in the pathy. And if it was'nt working would I be running on 5 cylinders.OH thanks for suggestions I did post on the garage instead.Sorry I am new to all this. THANKS AGAIN TROGDOR.

oKAY HAVE A HIGH OHM READING ON INJECTOR 35 OHMS ALL OTHERS AT 12 OHMS . CLEANED UP LEADS STILL 35 OHMS.WILL RUN ENGINE NEXT AND USE SCREWDRIVER TO SEE IF I CAN HEAR INJECTOR CLICKING .WILL LET YOU KNOW RESULTS.POSSIBLE BAD INJECTOR ? OR MAYBE WIRING HARNESS FROM ECU TO INJECTOR ?
-
checked passenger side fuel injectors got an ohm reading of 12 ohm on two of them the third read 35 ohms.the manual states 12 ohms is normal could not reach the driver side injectors as they are under the plenum.Should I replace that injector?
-
mechanics just dip it in gasoline and it will slide right in.
