  1. I hope that fixes it, that sounded nasty.
  2. to that ^ I cleaned out the back of my truck and found out 3 of the screws holding the carpet down are rusted in place..
  3. I doubt that could be more dangerous than just leaving it as is, so I think that's my plan. So I guess I'll order the OME coils and try to find a panhard rod at a u pull it this weekend as long as the weather's good.. Maybe I can find some jgc coils for the wd21 while I'm there.
  4. I've never ridden in another r50 so I don't have a comparison, but I guess it is kinda stiff in the back. I think phantom01 had a good idea about getting a new panhard rod and trying OME springs(I'll replace the link bushings too, if necessary). I had thought about going with OME before but, for some reason I don't remember, I chose AC? Probably cause of the extra 1/4", but looking at it now maybe it'd be better so go with 1.75" instead of 2" of lift since the front will stay stock for a bit.
  5. Wow, that is alarming to say the least.. Not too surprising tho I guess, keeping in mind who I got it from. Looks are not important at this point, just safety. Yes I do plan on lifting it as soon as $ allows. I want to go with the AC 2" lift. It won't be driven like that for very long, just until she can find a job and we get her first check.
  6. I drove around on mine with just the rear lifted for 2 weeks until i got around to getting the front done. Did it feel unsafe at all?
  7. Yup, the first pic is the driver side and second pic is the passenger side. I know it's been in at least 2 accidents and I need to get a new panhard rod cause it's welded together. The whole axle is shifted toward the passenger side, I think partially from the panhard rod not being welded back together straight and partially from those springs that look like they wanna die. Anyone agree? Or have a better idea?
  8. Ok, I think you guys are right about the death wobble, but don't these also look like they need to be replaced? left And right
  9. So let's say I replace those bushings and it seems to drive ok again.. That would be great, but I still need new coils in the back too. I'll try and get a picture of them tomorrow but they look really bad, like they're ready to pop out of place at any moment. Would it be safe to lift the rear and leave the front at stock height? I'd rather not have to buy 2 sets of rear coils(and I don't have the $ for the whole lift right now) but I need to make sure it would be safe for street use cause my girlfriend wants to start driving her truck.
  10. Yes, I too like your pathy and am (im)patiently awaiting more pictures
  11. Ok thanks, I know what you're talking about now, just wanted to make sure. I'm guessing pretty much all the bushings need to be replaced as most parts on the truck seem to be original at 155,000 miles.
  12. Rear sway bar link bushings right?
  13. For a month or so my (girlfriend's) r50 has been sitting in the yard due to the fact that I desperately need new springs in the back. I recently replaced the struts (with stock height Gabriel brand struts from autozone) and the front feels much better, but now the rear seems way more out of control and quite dangerous. So my question is: do you guys think it would be safe to run the 2" rear lift coils from AC with stock height suspension in the front? I know it might look goofy for awhile, but I don't have enough $ to do everything at once.
  14. The 92 is just over 130,000 and the 98 is somewhere around 155,000 both still runnin strong
  15. Or more like search! and we (they) can help.. welcome
  16. Adjusted the t bars all the way up and decided I'm goin to hunt for some jeep springs tomorrow
  17. Maybe you're right about the lack of mechanical skills or desire (i didn't always change my own oil either), but I do know mine go a lot faster now, at home, than they used to at a shop.
  18. I agree, other than maybe letting it drain for a bit longer, I don't see any reason an oil change should take more than 10 minutes.... I say it's a waste of time and $ paying someone else to change your oil, whether going to the dealer or some cheap lube place.
  19. You just have no imagination haha.. just jokin, thanks for the info tho, I'll try downloading that app on Monday when I can use the WiFi at work.
  20. No pictures til I can use a computer(only my phone has internet right now), you'll just have to use your imagination for now: a beautiful white 92 xe with some red sort of pinstripe design down the sides, rape red interior, no tire carrier and a 98 le, silver with a bent in back hatch, no rear bumper, sunroof shut and sealed with silicone and annoying leather interior. Both are still pretty much stock so nothin special to look at anyways, just some scratches and a nice set of 31" Goodyear wrangler authority tires that get switched back and forth between the 2.
  21. Doesn't sound like much of a Pathfinder to me, but I'm not the one with 20 grand or more to spend on a brand new vehicle either.. If I did I might like one, but I'd probably even pick an r51 over that. If/when I get a Nissan made this century it will be an Xterra, I like my trucks more offroad than on..
  22. My r50 has never let me down, on or off road. I haven't even been in an r51 yet so gotta go with what I know. And I still prefer the wd21 but I guess that wasn't an option haha...
  23. Oh, I already have big plans for both haha. I'm always strapped for cash though, so it will probably take forever for me to get it all done, but here's the list for now. I think most stuff is in order of how bad I need/want them, more important things first. 92: replace timing belt and everything involved with that, replace ball joints, new clutch, new exhaust, 3" body lift from AC, 33's, hoohaa centerlink, rancho steering stabilizer kit, OME coil springs, rancho shocks, 4.9 gears from an xterra, and I'll probably have to do the extra gearbox mod when I've got more tools (and skills). Armor, bumpers, winches, lockers, lights, roof rack and t case gears are in the veeery distant future for both trucks, probably the same time I'm able to sas the r50. I'm also contemplating swapping the vg33e into the wd21 then fitting the 350 Chevy engine I have into the r50 if that's possible. So far I have replaced the tre's (broke my hammer haha), changed the drivebelts and all fluids and filters, overfilled the tranny with redline mt90, removed the stock muffler, and moved the ecu to my glove box. As for the woman's car50: timing belt also needs replaced, new tires and/or wheel spacers, change auto tranny filter and fluid, 2" AC suspension lift for now.. But when we get her another vehicle I want to sas using a Dana 44 (i think), keep the h233b in back, get 5.13/5.14 gears and run 35's. We were also rear ended and the back hatch doesn't open, sooo I get to chop the back/top off when that time comes! On hers I've replaced the shocks and struts, replaced a window (i hate theives), changed the drive belts, filters and fluids, and replaced the brake calipers and pads. I think that's about all I have planned for them... Now off to look at everyone's trucks to see if I can get some more ideas.
