  1. Thanks for the info Pave! I'm kinda new to all this crap and I know just enough to be seriously dangerous.
  2. K, So I have one more stupid question, then I'll try to quit being a dumbass. If my choices are 15X8 with a 4" BS or a 4.75" BS which one is liable to cause me less problems?
  3. Sweet Ride MWS. Dumb question for you though. Is there an advantage going o the 8" wheel as opposed to the 7?
  4. MWS Mahalo plenny for the info. If I go to a 15X8 wheel do I have to worry about the backspacing?
  5. Thanks 88. Any ideas on the UCA's? All of the aftermarket one's I've found say they're for a 2 to 3" lift. Can I use the lift style UCA's (like the the ones A/C sells) if I'm just going to crank up the t-bars in the front? If you haven't already figured it out, I'm fairly new to this whole suspension thing.
  6. OK, I know this has been probably covered about a hundred times already, but afte reading ALL the posts about it I've decided to ask the Pathy Guru's for some guidance. I've decided to build up my 88 SE V6 Auto. I've gone back and forth about whether or not to lift the suspension or not. Right now it's at stock ride height running 31X10.50X15 on stock legos. I've decided to change the wheels to the Cragar Black D Window wheels, stock size (15X7, 6X5.5, 4"BS) and stick with the 31's. Wheels are here (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CRR%2D3425760&FROM=MG) I take it off road but never get RADICAL with it (rock climbing or anything) but do want it to be a capable rig. At stock height, the 31's look like they take up a fair amount of the wheel wells, but I don't know that I've ever bottomed out on them. So, do I lift? If so, do I use something like the A/C kit or peice it together like 88Pathy has suggested in other topics? OR, do I just do the bushings all the way around and put some better shocks on? Thanks in advance, I await your opinions.
  7. Great pics Cannon. Where were they taken?
  8. Any idea on what model years to use for the 240 ALT's? I have an 88 and the alt is pretty pathetic. I would love to change it out to a higher output model with a ton of fuss.
  9. This may sound like a stupid question but I've never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the batch. =) Is there a major difference between the auto locking hubs and manual ones?
  10. Slick, Sounds truly awesome! That's definitely the set up I want to go with. Which cat did you use? Where did you get that tube bumper? I'm looking for a good front end and am not sure I want to spend $750 on the ARB Bull front (although it looks GREAT).
  11. [doug thorley headers are CA legal and only $338 from summit racing. i run them on my 92 and will be getting a set for my 91.] Thanks for the info Slick. Did you have any issues getting past the smog test? I was thinking about re-diong my exhaust system, headers, high flow cat, Flowmaster Series 50 but got worried when I found out about all this CARB sertified stuff.
  12. [Hi just wanted to let you know if you need a tire rack I have one I will sell Reasonable] What year is it from and how much would you want for it? I have an 88 but it was rear ended at one point and the carrier is badly torqued out of shape.
  13. Greetings All! New to the forums and just wanted to say "Hi". I've been reading the forums for a few months but decided it was time to get involved. I have an 88 SE V6. It's beaten, battered and bruised but I love it. I've had it for about 8 years now and just recently decided it's time to build it up. It's stock, but only for the moment. Plans are for 2 to 3" suspension lift, 15X7 Cragar Black D wheels, 31X10.5's, polyurethane bushings all around, new UCA's, headers (having trouble finding CA legal ones), ARB front with a winch, rear locker, etc, etc. I imagine I'll be spending quite a lot of time here as I have about a thousand questions, most of which it looks like you guys have answered already. And, a special hello to any SoCal members. =) Jay
