  1. No tint for her. NY has some really fskced up tint laws plus I kind of like being able to see clearly through my windows without the tint.

However thank you. It's a true testament to how good this stuff is. I'd have junked a brand new (normal) paint job doing that. I honestly was a little worried but the owner of Monstaliner thought it would be fine so I said fskc it lol. Hopefully I'll have all the vinyl graphic on her toward the end of next week. We had some issues getting in the red vinyl we ordered.

  2. Cleaned up really nice. BTW I would have has some nice pin striping from the trees if this was paint. Keep in mind this it's only been 15 days since I did my truck in this stuff.

I did have some damage to the Monstaliner finish on my front bumper but that was from using my bumper as a skid plate to push myself up onto a rock lol. Nothing that a repair kit won't fix right up. I've done this type of damage to the Dupli-Color bed armor that was on there. I don't expect any product to take that kind of abuse.

  3. I'm about to do this right now. I have the newer dash out and ready to go. I have a question though with the electronic speedometer. Do I need to replace part of the wiring harness pr just connect the electric sensor? I'm sure I'll figure it out on my own but any advice that will help me through the process would be awesome.

  4. WOAH, you chassis saver'ed the whole body?! Well at least we can be sure that there will be a npora truck reppin for the next hundred years or so, lol. I bet it'll be a good amount quieter when you're done, especially with the monstaliner :jealous:

Really excited to see it when you're done, keep up the good work!

Yup the whole body. Well I did run out on the tailgate but but it should be fine. I got the areas that are most likely to rust plus all the Monstaliner I'm sure will do a good job of protecting things lol.

Right now I'm trying to get the interior from the other Pathy into this one while I wait for the black to really setup. God willing I'll be putting the white and red on tonight and it should be ready to drive tomorrow.

  5. That truck is going to last forever now!!! I feel myself becoming envious....I think I must do this too......!

Don't worry the colour scheme is yours, I'll just leave mine black!

Might I enquire as to the approximate cost for supplies for this project?

    lol thanks.

The two gallon black kit they sell will do the trick. I had just enough to do two coats over the whole body and both my bumpers. Check out the link for pricing. It's not bad at all. Way cheaper than a paint job that will eventually get all scratched up if you wheel at all.

  6. Made a bunch of progress today. Basically I sprayed a base coat of Chassis Saver to help fight off the rust issues here in NY. This is the first time I sprayed a car so it was far from perfect but I think it turned out pretty good for a base coat that will be completely covered up with Monstaliner. Normally when using this product you should apply 4 thing coats. I did one medium coat because it's just a base coat. Honestly though if I had more Chassis Saver I would have done at least one more coat for piece of mind.

    Anyway here are the pics.

If you're at all interested in watching me paint this click on the following link. There will also be information about the gun I used and what not.

  7. And so it begins for the 91!!!

Here is a before picture to get us started.

As you can see I got my Monstaliner in the mail today.

Here is the way she sits as of right now.

If you want to see the build videos check out this link.

This is a list of current plans/goals:

    • Paint her in a 3 color Monstaliner finish
    • Rebuild the brake system
    • Install 16 inch steel wheels with custom welded on rocks rings
    • Install Mud tires of some sort. I’m thinking about going with 33″ Treadwright Guard Dogs
    • Remove and replace the entire interior with the interior out of a 94 Pathfinder.
    • Install an updated steering system from Camini
    • And much later down the road. Fully custom suspension with a solid axle installed up front.
    • Install a transfer case doubler.
    • Install winch
    • Build new roof rack and install LED light bar.
    • Skid plates
    • Maybe a roll cage

And this is a rough idea of what I hope she looks like when I'm finished. All the graphics will be vinyl.

  8. If the money is there and my truck is up to the task I'd like to go next year. That's a hell of a trip from the east coast during tornado season lol. Even if nothing goes wrong it's going to be an expensive trip.

  9. Where are you from Zack. You sound like you're from the North East where damn near every WD21 Pathfinder and D21 Hardbody are dead due to rust. I'll say this. You're going to have a hard time finding a legitimate Nissan Club to wright that letter. Not sure what type of checking the DMV does as far as checking out these clubs but I'd have to assume it's no easy task.

My question to you is why? What's the point of all this? To avoid emissions? To get a cool plate? Something to do with insurance? Here is the truth. Even if that was super rare people would have to find the value in it to even bother with this. I could be wrong but I don't think a small group of hard body owners qualifies as a club according to the DMV. They may be talking about nationally recognized clubs and most likely have a list. Other wise what would be stopping you from creating your own club and typing up your own letter? I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but I really think you need to look into this more.

There are some extremely rare cars out there that no one really gives a crap about. Think about it. What do you think a rare low mileage first car off the line Ford Fiesta in pristine condition would fetch if it was up for sale? Value is dictated not by the owner but by the people willing to buy it. Something doesn't become a collectors item because it's rare and in great shape. It's becomes a collector item when people are actually collecting them. Outside of KoveMan (lol) who's collecting WD21 or D21 Nissans? And better yet. Who's collecting them to keep them in show room condition?

Again I'm not trying to be a dick. I'm just trying to be straight up with you.
