  1. I don't know anything about the R50 but if the crossover pipe runs under the trans or even the bell housing it wouldn't hurt to put one of these on the pipe. Better safe than sorry. It doesn't cost that much and if nothing more it will help to keep your floor boards cool. I live in Arizona so heat is a major factor for us out here. Even well taken care of cars can over heat quickly in stop and go traffic during the summer. So I'm trying to do whatever it takes to keep that trans cool.
  2. I paid 167.78 shipped to my door for Skyjacker Nitro 8000 shocks. I'm more than happy with them even though I had to trim the lower mount on the front shocks to fit. That and if you order a set of 4 before May 31st you will qualify for a $35 cash back rebate from Skyjacker. I ordered the shocks from http://www.rockymountainsusp.com The part number for the shocks are as followed N8052 and N8027 (I forget what one is front and rear. If you really want to know ask and I'll look it up). The rear shock part number is 2 inches longer than stock. It will fit your ride if it doesn't have a lift and give you some real nice flex too. Just thought I'd pass this on to those on a tighter budget like I am.
  3. Just installed this on my the crossover tube that came with my pacesetter headers. The install is as easy as changing a radiator hose. I bought the 6" x 2' foot long one and cut it to fit length wise (about a foot). Then I used the extra piece on the passenger side collector just because it's really damn close to the trans. The one in the pic below only has 3 clamps. The two foot one has 5 clamps. The piece I cut for the crossover tube only uses 3 of the 5 clamps. The piece I used on the collector only had the two remaining clamps but I needed to cut all the extra off so it didn't just flap around under the truck. That and you don't want to let this stuff sit directly on the pipe. It will start smoking something terrible and smell like hell. I know this because I took the extra 4 inches of material that I cut off and put it on the stove burner. It didn't catch fire but it did turn black and smoke allot. It also started melting the metallic side that I assume is some sort of aluminum. I did this because I wanted to know what to expect if the edge of this should touch the pipe. I'll post more pics tomorrow showing everyone how it looks installed. It's to dark right now. I also installed some Thermo-Tec Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier on the trans pan. I did this the other day and I noticed when I went to install the heat shield that it was peeling off. I'm more than likely going to take it off. I have a feeling it's not only reflecting heat but also holding the heat that the trans it's self creates in the pan rather than letting it cool off. That and the heat shield is doing a great job on it's own. After driving for about 30 min I climbed under the truck with the engine still running and put my hand above the heat shield and it was a night and day difference from when I put my hand above the bare exhaust pipe. Here's the link to Thermo-Tec if you guys want to read more about these products. These are the only two products in the line I have experience with. We'll see how long it will last http://www.thermotec.com
  4. Those numbers are pretty impressive to say the least. I hear something completely different from the people I know that run them plus the BFG AT that I had on my VW Baja didn't last anywhere near 100,000 miles. I'd say closer to 30,000. But then again I actually used them for what they were made for. I'm not saying they are bad tires at all. I love BFG tires. But their off road tires aren't good factory tires. They are too purpose built. It's like the Goodyear MTR that was used as a factory tire. That didn't last long at all. The auto industry wants a more well rounded tire for general use. They know most people that buy SUV or trucks never use them off road. Anyway I think I made my point and this is getting way off topic. Sorry
  5. Unless I'm mistaken those tires were designed to be a factory tire for ether a jeep or FJ. I forget what one. I was looking at them when I was shopping for my tires. With that being said you have to consider that they more than likely have pretty good road handling characteristics and good tread wear. Everything off road most likely comes 2nd. These factory off road read rides were wanting something a little more aggressive looking while still maintaining good road handling characteristics. The BFG AT and MT tires are too aggressive and wear out pretty quickly for a factory tire. The BFG Rugged Trail TA is not even close to aggressive looking so they created this model as a best of both worlds type tire. I don't have any experience with them at all. Sorry this is all I can't add the subject. Hope it helps. I'd go to tirerack and look at the reviews on that site if they have any?
  6. So wait a min here! You mean to tell me this locker http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/powertrax-lockright-locking-differential-h233b-31spline-1986595-nissan-pathfinder-v6-p-3654.html requires me to buy an open dif before I can install it on my pathy? Why do none of these people selling it mention such an important detail?
  7. Great right up! Ok I do want to add something though. For those reading this don't miss the fact that the air shock itself did nothing to help improve his RAMP TRAVEL INDEX (RTI). The length of the shock and the sway bar being disconnected is what did that. I know this for fact because I'm running SkyJacker 8000 Nitro shocks on my Pathy. The rear are out of a Dodge 1500 and are two inches longer than the stock Pathy rear shock. I figured out my RTI using both a ramp and a forklift. The ramp I used wasn't 20 degree so I just measures how high the tire was lifted and then did all the math. I got the same amount of lift on both the forklift and the ramp (28 inches). After doing the math my RTI came to 785 using the calculator at this link. http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-corner/rti.htm And yes I know this post is old but I figured this is helpful information for those trying to maximize the amount of flex they have.
  8. Cats perform better when they're closer to the engine. If someone ever complains about that you need to fight it. I mean really what's the complaint if it's doing a better job at cleaning the air?
  9. I highly recommend Yokohama Geolander AT-S. Order them online and you'll get a great price!
  10. Oh and don't they have different fuel up there too?
  11. What mods do you have done to get the 16 city and 19 highway? Auto or Manual trans?
  12. The crossover pipe runs right under the trans pan. That and the flange that should connect to the tail pipe isn't a perfect fit.
  13. So I have to wait 3 months to nominate my ride? booooo! lol
  14. Oh and if you have tires larger than stock your numbers are flawed unless you have your gauge reprogrammed.
  15. So basically don't bother buying them if I don't plan on lifting it and use the money to install zerk fitting into my hand so I can lube my front end?
  16. I know this isn't what you're looking for but I can tell you for certain that you will notice a power increase with Pacesetter headers, high flow Magnaflow cat, and a Thrush welded 2 chamber muffler with the stock 2" pipe (The muffler is 2 and a 1/4" in and out. Everything else is 2 inch). I know this because that's what I just installed and I do notice more power. It sounds great too. There are some major draw backs to the pacesetter headers but that's another topic. The only reason I gave my 2cents on my setup is because I highly doubt you'll find actual dyno numbers here.
  17. Quick question about the after market upper arms. I have no plans to lift my ride. Will any of these arms make any difference at all other than putting a dent in my pocket.
  18. You most likely have bad bushings. I noticed in one of my videos while wheeling that my axle moved front to back while under load. Also the wheel offset is a major factor too. I have 31s and I had to do a bunch of trimming up front and in the back to the flares to keep them from rubbing. Also if they are rubbing under extreme flex condition they might be rubbing on the top of the fender well. Mine do.
  19. Ok wait a min here. I want to know all the details about your Pathy if you are getting 17mpg or better with city/highway driving. I get a little better than 14 and I've done everything to improve it short of a new cam and having the ECU reprogrammed. Come on spill the details. Are you sure you're doing the math correctly? We're not looking for estimates here. I want true life numbers. Top off your tank, reset your trip mile gauge, drive it, then when you fill up again take the number of miles you drove and divide it by the number of gallons it took you to top off the tank again.
  20. Installed some Thermo-Tec Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier on the trans pan and also installed a 2nd very large Derale trans cooler to go with the smaller one that was installed when I got my trans rebuilt..

Will be picking up a Thermo-Tec Clamp-On Heat Shield for the crossover pipe that came with the Pacesetter headers.

Do you have an in-line filter for your transmission?

Not yet but I've been looking for one locally. Looks like I'll be ordering one online.

  21. That's very good to hear. That type of racing get's no help from the local media. Well other than Bruce St. James (one of the drivers) he has a radio show in the morning on the biggest talk radio station in the state. He's been using his show and facebook account to promote the races he's in. Outside of that we got nothing other than some underground stuff that only racers know about.
  22. You got that right! Plus the 25 plus tracks in NY that run Big Block Mods. Hopefully there will be some money over there when it comes to shooting. It's a complete waist of time to shoot in AZ. You'd be lucky to cover your fuel with your photo sales out here.
  23. i want to throw everything in the trash and just leave but the woman seems to have a problem with that. She better be careful before she ends out in the trash with everything else lol
