  1. i have a 94 pathfinder xe 4x4 that we just fixed about 1 1/2 months ago..if you look on my page you will see i had a problem where it would get warm then start going insane rpm wise.it woouldnt get above about 2500 to 3000.and only got worse the longer it ran.it was fixed when we took the distributor cap off and cleaned that little white strip of silicone or whatever it is off,that spins around in the distributor.the rotor i think. well anyways,now after almost two months of non problems,it has started to bog down at stop lights or when i come to a full stop.then it will jump right back to normal in a bout two seconds.then it got to the point where it is stumblinig randomly going down the road and iof you step on it to put it in the passing gear it does it severely.new plugs wires and cap,medium grade gas and new filter.we checked fuel pressure when we were trying to fix it last time.it all checked out.idk what it is now.any suggestions? \
  2. if you mud opr off road alot its probably dirt and @!*% getting into your starter through things such as the distributor .mine did that too i usually go and turn the belts a little then it starts.or you can disconnect the positive battery cable and then try it again.
  3. HEYHEYHEY! figured it out! it was sopmething that was under the distributor cap it was clogged and dirty as hell.runs like a chamop now!and the temp is fine it doesnt move much but like you said it puts off heat.

  6. My temp gauge doesn't ever read much at all it doesn't go but a cm or two higher than it would if the motor was off and hasn't been on at all that day. Driving it for any amount of time will not raise it. Your saying that might be my problem ?
  7. Ya the thing runs like a champ at first. No problems what so ever. It's just the longe it drive the worse this problem shows it's ugly face. Then I turnnit off let it sit Over night then it's fine but it will start doing the same thing. It's a great looking truck. I love the thing. I just wanna get it fixed.

  9. hey man love this post.i did it on my 94 xe,shot me a 51.which is injector circuit.the oil smells like gas and i need it to get to work.i was going fine today then it started shaking a running rough again.pparked sat for a while with the engine off,but this only made it worse.even if i gave it full throttle it waS LIKE IT WAS NOT FIRING ON A CYLINDER OR SOMETHING.WHAT THE EFF
  10. My 94 pathy xe 4x4 is acting up. I ran it down the road today and it did fine until you get into the gas a little. It doesn't want to go I've a few thousand rpms. And the longer it runs. The lower rpms it is willing to climb too until finnallt it just sputters erraticlly and won't even start. Like it's getting flooded or gas at the wrong time. I threw a 51 trouble code in mode 3 and this indicates injector circuit. I HD mybrother pull me home on a Chain because it wouldn't idle for ten seconds. Even if yu give it gas it's bad. Suggestions? It has 240000 on it... We've done the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires , distributor cap, and timing belts, I think it may rns the injectors. The oil smells like gas and I'm pretty sure it was gas spitting out of the wexaust
  11. I did the trouble codes today on mine. It gave a 51, which would be the injector circuit. The oil smells like gas and if you drive it for a period of time it will start to lose power and studder sputter very badly. Likes it's flooding. And it spits gas out of the back. I had to get my bro to hook the chevy up to it and pull me home with a come-a- long. Would this probably be the injectors?
  12. Well I was planning on changing the temp sensor or something cause no matter how long you drive it or let it run it barely moves a cm or two higher than it would if it was off.

  15. Ya. I was looking around on here some guy said he seemed to have the same probelm and it was a crack in the intake tube. Betwen filter and manifold. But do you think it could be the fuel pump?
  16. Hahaha man no ignorance over ere I ain't got any racing in my future plans with this. I just wanna be able to drive to work and school without th wheels falling off and the thing reducing itself to rubble when I hit a pothole. A little muddin everynow and then is the hardest I'll put it through. Since this is tennessee
  17. Ya I got the plugs, wires,fuel filter and new optima battery. New air filter too. My family has always done everything at home. My father an brothers are both full time mechanics but I like learning on my own. Call me retarded. Ha. As of right Now she ain't runnin. I ad a probelm a month ago. I was crusin along. And something went I guess and it shot down to around 1500 to1000 rpms and was shaking and stalling so bad I had to pull over. It felt like something was giving out. I let it sit a few hour cuz luckily I broke down in front of a friends house. And I came back and it started right up and if you gave it any ga it did the same thing. Now when I start it it does just fine but if you let it run or awhile it will give you hell. Then I let it sit or a bit an it's fine ... And so on! Any ideas?
  18. I know this engine is a reliable one. Having 240000 miles on it is a big mile markerin any motors service life. I don't have alot of money and I need this thing to get to workand and school. What should I do? I am plannin on keeping the motor if it is advisable so I can rebuild it. But until then. What Are the main things I can do to keep it running strong and right besides basic maintenence and such ? Or is it possible to buy a remanufzctured or rebuilt one?

I have a 4x4 pathfinder 1994 As many of you Are aware it is very hard to find a large lift kit Because of the IFS I would like to know what all of you have done or know would work in achieving more travel in the suspension when four wheeling and what not. I am looking to increase lift a little bit but I'm mist concerned with being able to achieve the maximum flex possible. Any suggestions?
